In life we get into a Rut we sometimes do the same thing but expect different results. We need a Jolt which will wake us up and seek change.
  1. Stupor- A state of near consciousness or insensibility
Jott: Push or Shake abruptly an roughly

The last few seeks have been Jolts to BOTH Sona and Dev to wake them up from the Stupor

Let me share a personal story of mine.

I used to be pretty thin when I got married after several years I had put on weight when I went home a cousin of mine remarked how fat I had become I was shocked and after I came back I started exercising like a maniac after a few years another cousin of mine remarked how anorexic I looked. So I was exercising because one said I was fat but another said I was thin and sickly. I realized that I had to exercise because I needed to be healthy and I needed to be happy in my own skin whether I was thin or fat. That was a Jolt for me to get out of my stupor. When the jolt comes it may swing to extremes but it rights itself out.

Now to the story

Dev weakness was his mother he wanted to please her and he wanted to stay married to Sona because he loved her so the only way he thought he could do both was listen to his moms demands so keep her happy and in turn be happy with Sona

Sona 's weakness was Dev she knew Easwari was his and so she wanted to please Easwari so she listened to her demands and inturn thought Dev will be happy and by default she will be.

So in essence Easwari was pulling the strings on their marriage both of them would have continued to do this if there was no jolt ..why because Dev was conditioned like that for years and it is hard to break that unless you make a conscious effort to break the cycle.
Sona just wanted to stay married to Dev even if it meant listening to Easwaris unreasonable demands and she would have continued to remain like this also. Both of them would have remained in this stupor unless a jolt woke them up and this is the Jolt.

Dev to realize that he cannot expect Sona to remain in a stupor a sense of false happiness and that she may walk out and Sona to realize that the stupor she has been living in that Dev has changed is not true he was the same Dev who broke up with her earlier.

Albert Einstein "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting different results

This separation will be for Both Sona and Dev to wake up from the stupor , regroup and come out fighting strong. It remains to be seen if they will fight together or against each other because as I see it if they fight against each other Easwari still holds the strings

P.S Call me a hopeless Romantic but I still feel Love conquers all. and it looks like the makers wanted us to get out of our stupor too and see it for what it is just a story😉

I agree. Sometimes we need a push to get out of a rut. Unfortunately though, Sona had been getting that push way to many times. But she kept ignoring them. That's why she needed a hard break to wake up. You know the worst thing, Sabita? This time she will not just feel betrayed, she will feel like a fool.
Last time she could not have predicted her heartbreak. But this time, she stepped into the Viper's den eyes open. She forgot that the nature of snake is to strike. Expecting people to go against their own nature is the biggest stupidity.

Another thing I always say. The people who marry "fixer-upper" projects whom they want to "fix", make sure you at least like the ugly version to start with. Because if you don't and they don't change, then you are stuck with something you don't want to live with.

Tia the way I see it in life we always have to reevaluate our priorities and we need to regroup more for ourselves than others. If we keep living our life wanting to please others you start getting frustrated but you don't know what you are doing because it is like a bad habit you don you have to wake up before you can correct the situation.
Now let us talk about their so called marriage..granted there was love but they were missing an important component of it Respect for the institution of marriage. As I see it there is no fixing the other person in a marriage you enter it and take it with all quirks and flaws you sometimes hate some you sometimes love some . Do the partners change after marriage you bet but that change has to be in the right direction and if that change is not the partners have to communicate to bring about the change. The way I view it there is no perfect recipe for marriage some ingredients are more some less but it is strictly between the two people involved. Here where was the communication, where was the change for the better, where was joint decision making? They sure went thru the rituals of a wedding but they had no marriage. If having a baby which is the most personal thing between a husband and wife is dictated by a third person where is the sanctity of marriage?
In real life can this marriage be fixed depends on whether both of them want it to be fixed? If they do the first step is both to become strong in their own skins.

Sorry for the ramble.

Thanks in the beginning when I was viewing this show from a very personal standpoint I got offended , appalled, angry at what they showed..now I am viewing this just as story..so it doesn't bother me that much and I am just able to view it in a detached way😆

Sabita, you are right. A jolt was needed.
Dev's devotion for Ishwari was like a cancer. A few antibiotics would not help. Chemotherapy or amputation was needed. Dev needed to see his family for what it is and the cost of his blind devotion to them. He also needed to realise the value of Sona for he had had everything a bit too easy. He kept on insulting her, she kept on forgiving. Even when his entire family including him told Sona to get out today, the delusional fool didn't realise that it was final.

He was treating it as a major tiff between a couple not a final separation.

Sonakshi needed that jolt to realise that her love was meaningless and worthless as the object of her affections itself was worthless. It takes two to tango. Only one person sacrificing to make a relationship work ultimately leads to this. She needed to give up her rose tinted glasses and see the world for what it is.

Ishwari is obsessed with herself. She needed this jolt to lose her favourite toy that is Dev. She needed to lose her Goddess image of self and made an object of despise for her to realise what she has truly become.

All these characters had gone so far that slow transition was not possible. A surgery was needed.

You wrote so well. Yes a clean cut is necessary then a slow bleed. Because a clean cut may leave scars but they heal and fade with time but a slow bleed just kills and this toxic relationship that Dev and Sona are in is killing them both.
