Shibani Mallik in 24

It was a pleasant surprise for fans when they came to know about her presence on the 24 Season 2. She played the strong role of ATS Chief Mallik and surprised everyone with her performance. The work/role was completely opposite to whatever she has done so far. The character was of a strong and determined woman who was also a mother to a special child - very loving, caring and a nurturing mother. It was a beautifully layered character which Sakshi portrayed with equal beauty.

Zainab in Azaad

Azaad is a short movie which tells about the pursuit of freedom from chaos that resides within. It is a very subtle take on how one single incident can impact someone deeply.

The layered drama which captures the various conflicts, both internal and external, is narrated intensely in a non-linear fashion. It is a story of Father-Son relationship; Sakshi Tanwar Plays Zainab, a muslim wife of Atul Kulkarni's character who is the bridge between father and son.

She is the only thread that unites them who sometimes fight with son, sometimes with father, sometimes with herself and sometimes with situation and yet keeps her spirit n identity alive.

Daya Kaur in Dangal

Sakshi Tanwar played Aamir Khan's reel wife in Dangal, Daya Kaur. Despite less screen space, she gave worthy performance. Sakshi wanted to pursue mass communication or get into administrative services. However, her career graph looked the other way. She tried her luck with a Doordarshan audition and was selected for a program titled Albela Sur Mela and from there on began Sakshi Tanwar's journey towards television.

The actress had just entered the industry and hosted shows on Doordarshan when the role of Parvati in Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii landed into her lap. The show marked a wonderful beginning to her career on TV. Her character became famous among household women in a couple of days and she was looked upon as a 'sanskari bahu'. She is still remembered for her role in the show which aired for almost eight years.

While playing the protagonist on Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, she also took up the role of Maya Mittal on the famous show, Kutumb.She did a special appearance in Balika Vadhu as a deranged village belle. Viewers were shocked seeing an ideal bahu breaking someone else's house while simultaneously hosting Crime Patrol.

She did two critically acclaimed short films "O re Manva and Bawra Mann.

After a series of special appearances and cameos, She made come back to TV again in 2011. She chose to play a 33-year-old unmarried woman in Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. Her chemistry with Ram Kapoor was appreciated a lot by fans.

Another successful venture that fell into her kitty was Anil Kapoor starrer 24: Season 2. She portrayed the strong character of ATS chief Malik. Sakshi shed off her sanskari bahu image for this one and played a strong woman named Shibani Malik.

She did Marathi Movie "Katyar Kaljat ghusli followed by a short movie "Azaad. Her Last project was Dangal, Sakshi has impressed her fans once again.
