Chapter 10: This New Feeling

What was this new feeling? Ishani wondered as she pondered over the events since last one week. Her life had been a terrifying roller coaster, sliding briskly to her dismay, providing nothing but pain and sable future until today morning. Her heart skipped a beat. Ishani took a deep breath, denying the most obvious as she watched herself in the mirror. The smile of hers not reaching the eyes. She turned back and sat on the bed.

"I want to see you smile. That's it." His voice resonated in her soul, racking a most beautiful havoc as she shuddered the memory. She couldn't decide what this feeling was like... or what it felt to have him around.

It was like downpour after a long hot day that tormented a lost traveler on a deserted land, bereaving him of any solace.

Being Ranveer around, as he watched her in their room felt like slipping in a warm velvety blanket in the cold wintry night, after a tedious day when the snow caps adorned the mountain peaks generously.

It was often like softest of the smiles that surfaced involuntarily on a face that never laughed.

At times like the cradle of a warm embrace protecting her from the world.

Or at times the tears that rolled down gently out of the eyes of a person having forgotten to feel.

Several times it was like the touch of two lips as they met for the first time to engender the affection between lovers, sealing the bond with a passionate vow.

Ishani shook her head. She was no poet. But it was all she felt when he was around, scrutinizing her, smiling at her antics or remaining silent as she continued to speak endlessly. Did he never get tired of her stupidities?

She couldn't help but smile at the thoughts, reminiscing each of their moments as the smile widened, Ishani being completely unaware of the twinkle that flared itself lovingly in her eyes.

She was also unaware of the fact that Ranveer, from outside the door sighed, thanking God for returning her smile back, being thoroughly oblivious that he was the reason behind it.

Hey, guys! This drabble is not from the show but taken from the missing part of Soulmates. It's from the chapter after Ishani finds out Chirag's truth and Ranveer takes her home. Since I hadn't given anything from Ranveer's POV back then, this will make up for that. xD

Chapter 11: His Moon

Could this girl stop being a mess? Ranveer wondered to himself as he tucked Ishani in a warm blanket, while she crunched her face at the loss of his warmth. He shook his head and smiled, the calm look on her face thawing the ice from his heart slowly. He stared at her, reminiscing her features from a long time ago when she knew nothing of the cruelty and lived in a world of innocent promises manifested with love and friendship for her. Even if she wasn't the same girl anymore, even if she had a broken heart today, she still preserved her innocence, concealed underneath the heartaches no one saw.

Without any hesitation- even before Ranveer could realize- his fingers moved to touch her forehead and he pushed the hair from her face aside, suddenly yearning to yield a wish so dear to him as he leant closer towards her, but stopped in the middle.

No! Ranveer jerked himself away, perspiring.

She wasn't in her senses. She was drunk! It wasn't right even if his wish was as innocent as placing a friendly kiss on her forehead.

The truth never changed: She was the moon and he wasn't rich enough to own her.
