PART 23

Khushi couldn't believe what she heard and couldn't move from where she was standing.She simply stared at him from the door and saw him speaking in a very low tone through the mobile. She soon composed herself and entered the room. She spoke:Arnavji,..

He suddenly turned around,looked at her for a moment and spoke to the person at the other end:I'll call you later

Khushi:Who was that Arnavji?

Arnav:Eh...My friend..a close business associate.Why?

Khushi:Nothing...Arnavji,I want to go to the nearby temple today evening..would you take me there?

Arnav:No way Khushi..I'm sorry...I have an important meeting today.He came near her and whispered in her ear."I want to complete all the pending work before our marriage.After marriage I'll have time only for...She pushed him away and ran out from the room.

Arnav called:Khushi...Khushi

Khushi closed the door of her room and walked to the bed.She sat on it and an uncontrollable fear began to grip her.She sat there for a long time and then took a decision.

She told all in the Raizada house that she wants to get the blessings of her aunt and uncle and wants to meet them in the hospital.She asked Payal to go with her.

Nani:Chote and yourself had already gone and met them in the last week know?

Khushi:Yes nani but I want to meet them.

Nani:ok,but go with Payal in our car ok?

Khushi:Ok

Thus in the evening she went to Arnav's villa with payal.

On the way she told Payal that she is going to solve a mystery.

Payal:Mystery?

Khushi:Yes,but please don't ask me the details now.

Payal:What are you upto Khushi?

Khushi asked the driver to stop the car in the nearest parking area of the villa.

Khushi:You please sit in the car.I'll come within a few minutes

Payal:Where are you going?I'll also come

Khushi:No,it's a matter of life and death to me.Please cooperate.

Khushi walked towards the villa with a thudding heart.

She could see lights inside.She pressed the calling bell and waited but none opened the door.She touched the door and it opened easily.It was not locked.She could hear someone speaking in a low tone.

She opened the door of the bedroom with trembling hands.There was only a very dim light and she could see two figures.

She tried to find out the switch but suddenly the lights were switched on by someone.She was shocked to find an elderly lady seated on a chair with a glass of drinks.And Arnav was bending near her circling his hands around her neck.

The elderly lady,very elegant and beautiful,spoke in a musical tone:Welcome my dear Mrs.Raizada.

Khushi stared and stared.

The old lady laughed and said:This was all planned by this handsome devil.She touched his cheeks affectionately.Arnav slowly went near Khushi, took her hands in his tried to take her to the lady.But Khushi snatched her hands away.She glared at him.

The lady:I'm Aarathi Raizada,Arnav's Daadi,paternal grandmother.I came from London this afternoon.Arnav was brought up by his maternal grandmother,Nani, as his mother died at his young age.Arnav's father was my eldest son.Now I reside with my youngest one in U.K.I'm going to shift to Lucknow,to our ancestral home next month.

Now,I can see why and how Arnav fell for you.You are very beautiful and your eyes would make any man crazy.

Khushi looked at Arnav and his grandma in utter disbelief:

Daadi: Poor girl,She was too tensed and confused.Come and sit near me.I like to have drinks sometimes.And I don't get it in Raizada mansion.Ren knows it.So he brought me here.

Khushi:Ren?

Daadi:I call Arnav so.He knows the reason.Your Nani doesn't like me much because I don't follow the conventions.I was born and brought up in London.I'm in utter disbelief that you haven't started your life yet.My dear girl there is no meaning in rituals .If two people love each other they can live anywhere together.But I know that you are born and brought up in strict conventional system.I like you very much.I'm sure that you'll make my Ren very happy.Arnav..why are you standing there?Come near.Both of you sit together.Let me see.

Payal came in search of Khushi.She was also confused when she saw Khushi with the old lady.Again matters were explained to Payal also.

Khushi:So you are not coming to the mansion?

Daadi:Yes of course,day after tomorrow is the marriage know?I'm coming there today.How did you come...in your car?

Khushi:Yes..

Daadi:Arnav I'll go with Payal.You please spend some time with your wife...She'll have something to say to you.

Khushi looked at him.She saw a different expression on his face which made her stay back.

.Payal said:Khushi,Nani will scold me.

Daadi:I'm there know?Come child. Arnav called his driver to his villa.He came and Dadi and Payal left with him.

Teaser to the last part

He touched her lower lip with his fingers,opened it and started kissing.Khushi felt the ecstacy rising in her.She couldn't move.He chewed her lower lip and then kissed the whole.She stood weak and defeated in his hands.He whispered in between,,I'm not going to wait for ceremonies...Please tell me that you love me..Khushi...I want you...
