Shagun Pandey: I was flattered when Vidya Balan praised my acting!TOI

It's always a joy when a senior actor complements another actor for a job well done. A similar, happy incident happened with the young actor Shagun Pandey when Vidya Balan complimented him for his role in the show 'Bado Bahu'. When asked, Shagun narrated the incident, "I was at a restaurant called Chaayos in Juhu having coffee, and out of nowhere I see Vidya Balan sitting on the next table. And I really have a deep respect and love for her as an actor. She has a very charming personality. Also, I loved her in 'Kahani', 'Kahaani 2', 'Munna Bhai' and all those wonderful movies. She is an effortless actress. So, I went up to her and asked her to click a picture with me. And it came as shock when she recognized me, and said, 'You are Vardhan from Badho Bahu, right?' I was beaming as I said yes! She told me she does not watch much TV, but one day as she was surfing channels, she saw 'Badho Bahu' and found it very interesting, which is how she recognized me. I was so flattered!" So, is Vidya his favourite actress? "Well, Disha Patani is my favourite actress, but with Vidya Balan, I am attracted to her acting and her beauty. I love her as an actress."
This is no surprise though considering Shagun's character Vardhan is quite popular among the public. When asked whether Shagun has personally received any compliment, he says, "I am getting the loveliest response ever. Previously, I had done the show 'Santoshi Maa' on the same channel, but that time I did not get much of a response. But being Vardhan, a decent image has formed all over. Off screen, when I meet people they all recognise me and are excited to see Vardhan."
In fact, Shagun is actually getting proposals for his 'good boy' act! He explains, "People are calling me a good, innocent boy. I have actually got calls asking me for my hand in marriage! There is this guy who constantly texts me on Facebook and asks my father's number to fix my marriage with his daughter. But I have to remind everyone that I am still 20 years old."
With all the praise coming his way, Shagun has still not forgotten the people who helped him reach the place he is at. About his producers and the creative team behind the show, he says, "I love Dipti Kalwani. It is so wonderful to work with her. She has shown so much faith in me. Deepti Ma'am, Pankaj Dir and Vikas Gupta got me Vardhan. At first, I was like why did you choose me for Vardhaan? But she said she had a vision and she knows her characters too well. Just the other day, I gave a shot and she texted me on WhatsApp telling me that I acted well in the scene, and I was overwhelmed. So yeah, it is lovely working with Hum Tum Tele films, Sunny Side Up, Dipti ma'am and Sushant sir. We are pampered with love and gifts and parties!" Well, way to go Varun.
