Chapter 8 - Anjali out of her Dream world!

Anjali decided to meet up with detective out of her house. She usually did not go out of the house alone and now that she was pregnant, it was even more difficult for her.

She told Mamiji she wanted to go to nearby temple and before Mamiji could put on her makeup, Anjali left the house.

She took driver Mohan with her and went to her favorite restaurant "Purple Orchid". The detective came by and presented her the report.

"One thing is surprising is Mr. Shyam Jha has been transferring properties in your name and now he transferred his Lucknow farms and godown in your grandmother's name" The detective provided Anjali highlights of recent activities Shyam was doing.

"Does he have properties in Lucknow?" Anjali was surprised. Shyam had never mentioned about Lucknow.

"Yes, he has strong connection with Lucknow. He was born and brought up there. Only last 8 years, he has been in Delhi" The detective told her.

"In fact he is still connected with Lucknow via Gupta family. He knew them from Lucknow and was staying with them as a paying guest in Lakshmi Nagar.

"What?" why would he stay in Lakshmi Nagar when he has a house in Delhi? Anjali was thinking out loud.

"It seems he was head over heels in love with one of the Gupta sisters, stayed there and pretended to be a bachelor and was trying to get married to Khushi Gupta" The detective slowly gave her the worst news.

He could see Anjali was pregnant but he has faced much more tough situations in his job and he was expert in tactfully telling the truth to his clients. There was much more to this specific report that forced the detective agent to come clean and be straight forward with the truth and not hold back anything... After all Anjali's life was at stake here and the detective knew the gravity of the situation very well...

He offered her water. She gulped down the whole glass. She did not know what to believe now, her lovely husband at home who treats her like Rani or the report presented by the detective.

How much ever she loved Shyam, she knew his behavior was odd. His cases were always out of station, his huge bank balance without any proper income, he always was smartly spending her money and too much sugar coated talks without giving proper answers. In fact he had never shared any true or basic information with her like he was born and brought up in Lucknow or he knew Guptas... There were too many clues out there always...

Then she remembered Khushi had told her fiance's name was Shyam. Then her engagement was broken suddenly and no one ever talked about her fiance. Khushi had always avoided Shyam and how she was never comfortable in RM when Shyam was around. In fact she now realized Khushi never came to RM after Payal's marriage...

Gupta family also always looked awkward when dealing with Shyam during marriage and they never made an effort to even talk to Shyam or any basic formal conversation ever happened.

Why did they not tell them about Shyam? May be because she was pregnant and treat Shyam like god, Guptas stepped back...

Anjali suddenly remembered Khushi had come to her room the next day after her engagement broke and wanted to talk to Anjali but somehow changed the subject after seeing her panicking about her broken wedding necklace...

Maybe that made Guptas step back and not tell her the truth especially since she was pregnant... Anjali was expert in joining the dots and coming to conclusion...

Unlike Arnav she did not doubt Khushi or Gupta family... She had seen them trying to talk to her about Shyam but her over trusting and loving nature towards Shyam had pushed them back...

"Madam, he also had some had in illegal businesses. He has association with few goons in Lucknow plus with illegal builders, you and your family need to be cautious. Worst news is 3 life threatening situation you were involved in recently were actually planned attacks by Mr. Shyam to hurt you" The detective concluded.

"Madam, I am really sorry for all this. But I needed to tell you the truth. Especially you are pregnant and your life is in danger with Shyam Jha around you and you need to do something about it real fast... Maybe you should inform your brother ASR as well" The detective made her realize the gravity of the situation in no nonsense tone...

Anjali's heart and her dreams were shattered in last few minutes! The more information came out, the worst it got for her.

But she was strong woman. And especially seeing her mother being weak and her promises to her Chote after her parents' death, she knew right away that she had learned to be realistic and strong for this day in her life!

She needed to talk to her Chote immediately and inform him about Shyam and protect her family and most importantly herself and her baby!!

So what if he is done with her and does not need her or her baby!! She can still have the baby and was strong enough to live for her baby... And maybe she will find true love one day...

She thanked god in her mind for giving her younger brother like Arnav who she can trust her whole life and who will always be with her.

Chapter 9 - Shyam falling in trap!

Shyam was surprised not to have any litigation on his properties in Lucknow! They were all fake rumors!!

So who spread such a vile news and why?

Then ponder over last few days of activities and he realized how suddenly his finances were played against him and he had by now transferred most of his properties in either Anjali or naniji's name.

Does Anjali or Arnav had hand in tricking him? Did they get to know about his engagement with Khushi or any of his other illegal businesses? What was going on?

By then he called Delhi and his doubts were confirmed. The bungalow booked nearby RM was booked only in Anjali's name and no mention of joint property.

He also had his own way to find things out. Arnav was way too shrewd for him but he could find out Anjali had hired detectives to find information about him.

He was raged. He initially assumed Anjali herself did all these activities though he doubted she could pull all this alone that too when she is pregnant...

Shyam then tried to quickly collect information on Arnav's tactics and activities. He realized Arnav never had tried to contact Khushi on her phone nor went to meet her... Even Anjali had called Gupta House hardly couple of times that too a month ago when they visited them... Khushi also had been following her routine and was not interested in crossing paths with Raizadas...

So did Arnav or Anjali or both of them together showed as if everything going on normal while pulled off the actions against him the back ground? Shyam was still not sure...

But one thing was sure, Khushi was not yet involved in any of this... May be Arnav purposely did not contact Khushi to avoid alarming him... Even though his people could not say anything about income tax officer, Shyam was kind of sure he must be Arnav's man...

Bottom line was he was penniless now with all of his assets transferred in Anjali's name and cash invested in the properties again on her name. He could no longer spend money on hiring people against Arnav or Anjali... Or to survive for himself...

Arnav had purposely let lose this information to Shyam to unleash him and wait for his actions.

Nothing like pushing Shyam to the edge, force him to make mistakes to catch him red handed and then handing him over to Police! Arnav thought.

Arnav came home late that night and saw his Di sitting still sitting in living room and had dozed off. He was surprised she was still waiting for him.

"Di, wake up, did you eat your dinner?" Arnav woke her up.

"Yes, Chote. But I am feeling little hungry so let's eat together. How about you?" She asked getting up and asked HP to warm up the food.

"I am so hungry Di. Let's have dinner together" With that he quickly went and changed clothes and came back.

Arnav was aware that his Di might have got the report from detectives but he wanted to wait until she confides in him. Dinner was a quiet affair...

"Chote, I wanted to talk to you about Shyamji" Anjali went straight to the point without beating around the bush.

"Di, I think I am aware what you are going to talk about. But let's open up and discuss" Arnav confessed knowing about Shyam.

"I thought so too when I realized Shyamji was transferring all his assets in my name. You definitely have some hand in it" Anjali had guess it right.

Then it was long night of reality on how Shyam tried to fool them and it was never love from his side for Anjali and just money. Arnav allowed Anjali to let it out and cry on his shoulders. The sooner they do it, better it was for them considering Shyam was not even worth their one tear.

Arnav provided her details how he plans to trap Shyam and proof he had collected so far.

"Di, that's why I tipped off income tax officer and my friend Ashutosh to come and target Shyam and I did everything to snatch money back from him as well. He did not deserve us Di, especially you and your love and the baby..." Arnav was sad for his Di but firm on his decision...

"Di, don't you dare waste a single tear any more on that Shyam... He is not worth it... We gave him everything but what he did in return is unforgivable" Arnav reiterated facts...

Anjali was still emotional and vulnerable but Shyam had gone too far in evilness when he tried to kill her thrice that too when he knew she was pregnant with his baby! Anjali and Arnav both did not want to spare him now and Anjali was glad her Chote managed to snatch back all the money...

If he did not respect their love, he doesn't deserve her money either!!

Now they were just waiting for Shyam to return...
