The Plausibility of Tia's Potential Pregnancy
So let's not even bother touching on the sheer hypocrisy of the situation itself (plus other people on the forum have already ranted about it far better than I could!) because Oberoi Mansion is the land of hypocrisy. No, let's actually think about this potential pregnancy, and what it actually means for Ishqbaaaz.I say potential for a reason; I genuinely wouldn't put it past a vamp such as Tia is, to fake a pregnancy.
Think about it - she pretends to attempt suicide because she 'can't see a future for her and her child because Shivaay Baby seems to be so captivated with his forced wife that he won't give her a divorce'.
Can't you imagine her saying that?
Shivaay stops her, and tells her he needs time to think. In which time, Tia tips the media off about how Mr. and Mrs. Shivaay Singh Oberoi are expecting, which here ensues a completely expected media frenzy. Cue, Shivaay the morally righteous idiot divorces his middle-class wife, and then he and Tia have a hush-hush wedding. Two weeks later, she announces to the family and the media that she had an early miscarriage and everyone smothers her with sympathy, and love.
It sounds like quite the elaborate plan with multiple plotholes- but something that the brainless Tia Kapoor would come up with. The only intelligent part of the plan is tipping off the media; so even if the Oberoi family find out about Tia's reality, they have to still accept her in front of society because they can't risk their reputation abandoning their 'pregnant' daughter-in-law.
What our dearest Tia forgets to prepare for is the hurricane that is Annika and the force that she is coming for her.
Anyhow, if the pregnancy is real - that gives prospect to some more drama.
The first thing that really takes priority is how Shivaay reacts. The only way for him to consider the child as his, is if Shivaay and Tia have slept together. This strikes me as slightly odd for a few reasons.
For one, wasn't Tia only originally in it for the money? Isn't her heart, soul and aura completely Robin's?
Saying that, she may still have the hots for SSO (who doesn't?) so that's kind of understandable. But Shivaay? Has he ever, ever shown to be remotely attracted to Tia? Or really, to anyone but Annika?
The most romantic thing that he's ever done to Tia (or intended to, at least) is given her a back hug. The other two times, he's either too busy hiding from Annika (the moon on his wristwatch scene) or stood there like a rock while Tia all but assaulted him. Even with Annika, who he is insanely attracted to, he hasn't done anything apart from look at her lips intently. Not that he's really had the chance!
The point is, Shivaay doesn't really seem like the type of man who really spends time trying to feed his sexual desires. So for him to sleep with Tia, it doesn't quite make sense.
Saying this, if there's a random plot twist, and he has slept with Tia, I wouldn't really mind. He's a thirty year old man, for god's sake. Him still being a virgin is not realistic in anyway. Apart from the fact that this means that he was being devastatingly hypocritical with Annika and Daksh, this shouldn't be something that we should be worried about.
See, whatever Nayi Soch crap Star Plus spouts on a daily basis, Ishqbaaaz is everything but unconventional. Thus, I doubt, no I give you a blood oath, that the CVs would never, ever make the child Shivaay's. In their eyes, it would completely devastate ShivIka.
So let's just assume for now that the child is Robin's. What does that do for us?
1. Prove that Tia is evil to Shivaay. And thus, further challenge his NKK-centric belief system.
Well if he knows that he hasn't slept with her, then he has to realise that she's cheating him. I've seen Qubool Hai, in which there is a pregnancy track as well, where Tanveer accuses Asad of being the father of her baby. At that point, Asad and Zoya are in love, so he pretty much withdraws from her and refuses to marry her with the guilt of what he has supposedly done hanging above his head. However, there, he has an unconscious one night stand with her - which isn't really plausible in Ishqbaaaz, unless they fit in a one night stand between ShivIka's windscreen drama and Tia's suicide attempt. Now that I think of it though, seeing how fast things have been moving in IB world, I wouldn't really put it past them at this point. Let's just say though, that it's quite crystal clear that Shivaay has not slept with Tia, and instead, he is freaked out about how he is going to deal with the media and the family. Insert Annika, and her adventurous ways here.
2. Give way to ShivIka investigating Tia.
Cue cutesy scenes between the husband and the wife. Hopefully we'll get to see Annika using her intelligence for once, instead of flailing around accusing Tia left, right and centre with absolutely no substantial proof.
3. Prove that Tia is evil to the family.
I honestly think that pretty much everyone is happy with the ShivIka wedding apart from Pinky, who is still completely captivated with high-society Tia Kapoor. However, I genuinely feel that when she finds out about Tia's reality, she will be one of the first people to completely want to destroy her. And then we can finally have the sweet Annika-Pinky moments that we've all been hoping for ever since Annika became Shivaay's wedding planner!
4. Open the storyline up for some more villains, more misunderstandings, and then ShivIka in love.
Because come on, as if Gul Khan and her CVs will be satisfied with two villains, and one misunderstanding. No, they'll be heaps more but I just hope that with Tia out of the picture (for now, at least), Shivaay can have a nice redemption track, ShivIka can eventually fall in love, and accept each other. And then we might also get to see more of the other pairings on the show!
Speaking of ShivIka, I find the contrast quite interesting. While Shivaay doubts Annika everyday, we really have never seen Annika question Shivaay's doings. That was one of the first things that made me fall in love with ShivIka - the proposed bond of faith and trust between them that no other couple on Indian TV has ever really successfully followed through with. I'm hoping that witnessing Annika's unwavering faith in him, only deepens Shivaay's redemption. However, we never really know with Shivaay's redemption, because right now, it looks like it's going to be overshadowed by Tia Reiki Kapoor, the Queen-of- Implausible-and-Nonsensical-Revelations.
All in all, this pregnancy track is quite overused so I hope that the CVs will attempt to make it slightly more interesting, and realistic than what he have seen before.
Or we can all physically, mentally and emotionally prepare ourselves to witness Annika adopt ShiTia's offspring 😆
