During a recent media interaction at the launch of the Indian Academy Awards that will commence next year, Shah Rukh Khan was asked about why he never won a National Award himself. And he gave a really honest answer for the same, "If I didn't get it, then I didn't deserve it!" That's why we love this man; he doesn't think too much of himself in areas where he lacks and he is simply honest about this.
However, we have to say Shah Rukh Khan also had a bout of bad luck when it comes to National Awards. He did came close to winning a National Award twice, one for Swades and the second for Chak De India. However, misfortune struck him on both the occasions as he lost in the final round. His brilliant performance as the beleaguered coach Kabir Khan in Chak De India was overshadowed by Prakash Raj's terrific performance in Tamil movie Kanchivaram. However, he really did deserve a National award for his understated performance as the NRI Mohan Bhargava in Swades. But the jury then, for some reason, thought Saif Ali Khan's usual performance in Hum Tum was better than his, and gave Saif his first National award.

Dear Shah Rukh Khan, we know fortune has not been on your side, but you have enough time ahead to give another shot at the National awards. Check out what happened with Leonardo DiCaprio this year at Oscars 2016!
