Triumph of Love: An Abhimanyu-Sasirekha SS

Sasirekha lay on the bed on her belly, as her chin rested upon her palm and her elbows supported her face and millions of thoughts plotted against her aching heart. His kakashree krishna's words, the waves that were somewhere lost in oblivion after conveying themselves to her once, were transmitted back to her by the mocking nature.

"Time doesn't wait for anyone putri! It goes on and on and on" He had said "You never know what twists and turns it takes. And at every single one of those, it surprises you,sometimes astonishes you but it is certain that it would never fail to amaze you,my child. But then,that's where its beauty lies. Just think about it,if it just wasn't this way and it was all so simple and predictable would it just be so much fun?"

"And what is so beautiful about it now kakashree?" She lamented aloud, yet only the walls of her chamber could hear.

"She turned her head slightly in the direction of the mata parvati shrine in the palace which was sparsely visible from her present position.

"Why oh why mother does this happen? Why am i to separate from him whom i love more than my life and to become somebody else's for life? And why does thee have no mercy on his family, the ones who were born to conquer and rule the earth why are they now forced to spend their days in the forest infested with wild beasts? And why am i to marry into the family that is responsible for their present states? Why is thee and thy destiny so cruel and heartless mother?"

She thus demanded plain explanations as tears filled her eyes, pretty naive of what fortune had in store.

"Rajkumari Sasirekha!" A male voice that was heavy, in fact quite dreary, was heard calling out to her but wasn't adequate or sufficed to be able to move her.

"Who is this? Sangini, i had instructed you in advance not to let anyone in. I wish to be alone.So please let me!" She said undaunted still under the clutches of those thoug0hts of all kinds.

"Rajkumari, Sangini and all your daasis are laying unconscious downstairs in the hall. Do you really want me to revive them?" The voice asked again not paying much attention to her previous plea.

"Didn't you hear me right...?" Sasirekha was ready with a threat this time,hadn't the word unconscious hit her right in the head "Unconscious?" She popped a puzzled question as she turned to where the voice seemed to be coming from.

The next moment, Sasirekha froze at her spot as several chills flew down her spine at the sight that met her eyes. There was this guy, several feet taller than usual humans, exceptionally healthy and dark skinned all over,spotting a dense moustache and beard that completely covered his face. On his head was hair, that ran in numerous directions but that wasn't at all the cause of any worry. What caught her attention was a pair of horns, pointed and sharp. The form as a whole was fierce and enormous and fearsome. Yeah,the reassuring and calm look on the face was definitely a saving grace hadn't two fangs,one from each end of the mouth interfered,entering into the territory, overshadowing that too.

Sasirekha shivered generously and only three words could make their way out of her mouth "Who..who are you?"

So this is a short story I am writing on the characters from the Mahabharata, Parthaputra Abhimanyu and Balarama's daughter Sasirekha/ Vatsala as you might call her. This is based on a folklore that is quite popular in south india though it doesn't find a mention in the Mahabharata. All I intend on doing is rewriting this tale of tragedy and love emerging victorious. It would mostly be in accordance with the folklore itself although I have taken creative liberty at certain places.

Also this is dedicated to my dear friend and sister Mahishee on her completing a year on India forums. Heartiest congratulations sweetheart, this is a simple gift from my side.Love you to the moon and back!! Hope you like it.

Chapter-1 is quite short but the further parts would be longer and would slowly start diving into the story more.I'll be updating this regularly once my exam end, and there won't be too many parts, i'll keep it as short and sweet as could be.
