Kahaani 2 had a poor first week as it grossed 23.75 crore nett apprx which is the same first week collection as the first Kahaani in 2012. The film had apoor start on Friday and jump over the weekend was not good enough and collections came down badly from Monday onward. Kahaani 2 adds to the flop list of the year and is the fourth sequel flop in the last few weeks after Rock On 2, Force 2 and Tum Bin 2. Its another matter that these sequel / series films should never have been made as the first films were not good enough to deserve a sequel. Kahaani had found good appreciation in West Bengal but Kahaani 2 after a decent weekend in West Bengal it also fell flat there also. The other circuits which were comparatively better were Mysore and Mumbai but overall its a poor fare.
Dear Zindagi had a fair second weekend grossing around 14 crore nett in week two taking its total to 61 crore nett. The drop is 70% from week one which is par for the course for a film for a film that collected well in the first week. The film was closing on in the enw relese Kahaani 2 figures every day and actually may do better than that film this week despite being a week older. The collections continue to be excellent in Mysore which has no gone to 7 crore nett and beating films like Rustom and Fan. Pink is a little higher than 7 crore nett and that will also be surpassed soon. it will emerge the fifth highest grosser in Mysore of 2016. The film has done well but its due to the cast mainly as appreciation is not really there for the film.
