Has Rakhi's accusation of voting being rigged had any effect on your celebrations?
It hasn't made any difference. It just makes me realise how important this show was. I feel like I have won the world cup. Sanjeeda and I don't know how to express our feelings. About Rakhi, everyone knows that she has always been hungry for publicity. I understand that she's upset but you can't go around accusing the channel or fellow contestants just because you weren't given the trophy.
Rakhi says that you and Sanjeeda didn't speak to her once the final couples were announced?
That's not true. Yes, we were never best of friends. But you don't have to be friends with everyone that you work with right? We were cordial to them. I have no clue why she's saying this!
Did you expect her to react like this?
I thought she would be upset and react differently. She walked off the stage the moment the decision was announced. Everyone went to call her, but she wasn't sporting enough. She disrespected the platform and the audience. It didn't make sense. See it's not like she was the only one who was praying, but we didn't have cameras following us everywhere.
What's your equation like with her boyfriend Abhishek Awasthi?
I have never really interacted with him much, but he's a fabulous dancer. He doesn't speak much because Rakhi does all the talking.
Do you think people expected you to win?
There was no reason why we shouldn't have bagged the title. We have never been in the danger zone. We have always got good marks and people have voted for us. I am sure that after the unwanted controversy, people who had voted for them would have also voted for us.
How has the show affected your relationship with Sanjeeda?
Being together can either work for your relationship or work against it. Thankfully, for me and Sanjeeda it worked for us. But it's too early to think about marriage. Both of us are busy with our career right now.
