Ishita stormed back into the living room and ran right up to her room. Appa requested Mr&Mrs Bhalla to wait a while as he would bring Ishita back and they would finalise the match. In the meanwhile, Toshi ji asked Raman what he thought of Ishita. Raman hi fi'd his parents and in a low voice declared "kudi phas gayi! Shaadi ke liye maan gayi par hai Jhansi ki Rani!! đ"
Mrs Bhalla did a small Bhangra and hugged Raman tightly as he flaunted a wide smile punching his hand into the air indicating his small step towards victory!
Mr Bhalla kept his hand on Raman's head and blessed him, tears of happiness glistening in his eyes. Raman knelt beside his father and grntly asked "Papa aap ki aankhein, aise num, kyun?" Mr Bhalla caressed Raman's hair and spoke "Iyer Sahab ne mujhe bhai maana hai aur aaj woh apni amanat humare hawale karne jaa rahe hain. Puttar tu Ishita Puttar ko phoolon ki tarah sambhal ke rakhna ... koi taqleef naa pohnche usse kabhi!" Raman took his father in a tight hug and exclaimed "oho Papa ab aap senti naa ho jao! Aur befiqar raho. Madrasan Jhansi ki Rani ko phalkon pe bithake rakhon ga!"
Just then Vishwa and Ishita came downstairs and Raman settled into his place. Vishwa got everyone's attention and said Ishita accepted the alliance and that the engagement was set to be in a month's time.
Days passed by and both families got busy in shopping for the engagement. On one occasion, Vishwa decided IshRa should go shopping together and buy their outfits; a condition attached that only Raman would spend from the salary he earned from his tuition fees. Ishita was irked but went along.
They looked through several outfits and Ishita, just to tease Raman said she wanted to buy a lehenga worth R.s 3.5 lakhs but Raman's budget only allowed one worth Rs. 25000 which Ishita happily bought; Raman left totally surprised. He had little idea what was cooking in Jhansi ki Rani's mind. Days went by like this and one day Toshiji decided to come over to the Iyer's to get Ishita to check out the jewellry she had decided to use in the engagement. Ishita glanced upon the jewellery and gave it a disgusted look just because it had lost it's shine!! đ˛
Mrs Bhalla felt very embarrased but chose to keep quite and decided she'll go over to Kakkar Jewellers and get the gold clean.
It was the day of the engagement and It was set to take place in Bhalla House. Vishwa and Ishita reached the place and Raman was shocked to see that Ishita hadn't worn the lehenga he bought for her. He greeted Vishwa and politely asked if he could take Ishita to the side to chat for a moment or two. Vishwa happily allowed Ishita to go along but Ishita didn't budge as she knew exactly what was going to happen. He took her into his room locked the door and pinned her to the wall as he roared "change into the lehenga I bought with you" she wiggled out his hold and slid under unlocking the door. He locked the door and not letting her utter a word took her lips for a kiss đ
