Atharv is not negative. The show title Jaana Na Dil Se Door, Story about two men and a girl, means for Atharv, it is Vividha because he lost everything including his life for her but fate brought both of them near again in Vashisht's house in the form of his Step Brother's wife. How can he let her go. Everything is fair in love and War. That does not make him a murderer either, Guddi's death is an accidental death.

PS: Can someone derive a Negative Person?

If SRK becomes a positive person in Bazigar then Atharv also.

What about Abdul Chacha? Is he assisting someone?
