It is rare to see a deep, psychologically intense moment on an Indian daily soap. But the moment with Anika pleading with Shivaay to tell her what he wants to say was superb.
She is asking him to speak up. His come back is that there is nothing he wants to say. And yet, he doesn't meet her eyes.
It came across as a scene between equals.
What was perfect was there is no aggression! On either part! Shivaay has no build up of visible rage, no sputtering shouting, no treating Anika like a rag doll (which was sooo good to see). There was just a steady, stubborn "I have nothing to say." Anika has no flashing eyes, and thrusting fingers. She was just tremulous and pleading to hear what he wants to say.
They have been in a "I know", "I know that you know" situation for a while now. But when she threw water at him so deliberately, his silent acceptance had her breaking into tears. Because now they have moved into the "I know that you know that I know and I'm still not saying anything" and both of them know it. Now both of them know that there is nothing will make each of them open to the other.
I guess in a nice world, they would have had the time and the space to sit down over a cup of coffee. Anika, being more mature, would have taken a deep breath and told Shivaay why she said yes to Daksh. Shivaay, being a guy, would have then said okay she has taken the first step, now I can take the second, would have opened up about why he is upset.
But that's not where they are. And I'm afraid that each will find out about the other through someone else or something else. That is usual, predictable and slightly boring.
What will be interesting is to see exactly how Shivaay gets Anika to say yes to marry him. đ
The precap looked weird. Is that another girl that Tia has left in her place for Shivaay to get married to?!!! Of course, Anika will not let that happen to Shivaay! She was willing to say that she spent the night with him to save him from jail. But does that mean she will give up her freedom to save Shivaay from the indignity of being married to some random woman?
Now that's true love! đ
