Why oh why are they so stupid?

I am no rocket scientist. Don't like rockets nor science.😆 Sometimes the women of GKLB make me feel like a rocket scientist. That's a problem.

I was watching the episode from the other day where the doctor treating Suryakant was explaining to the family that he was in a "coma". Savitri said "coma?" as if she had no clue what it was. Some others looked equally confused. Infection...trans...fusion, what's that?😕

We've talked about the portrayal of women on GKLB before. And I don't mean to pick at everything but this is an example of what annoys me. I don't like stupid, unworldly and subservient women...God gave us brains and if you don't use it, you'll lose it.

I remain amazed at the Garodia women--some more than others. They are so dumb, dumb, dumb. I have a particularly venomous attitude towards Lakshmi and Savitri. It's like: Suryakant White and His Seven Dwarfs:

Savitri - Bashful

Menka - Grumpy

Saraswati - Fearful

Durga - Happy

Gauri - Bashful

Lakshmi - Grumpy

Ba - Doc (the other dwarfs make her look like a brain surgeon)

It's as if they never left their niwas except to deliver a warm lunch to Suryakant's office...via an air-conditioned personal car. They sometimes appear to never understand the world, especially Savitri. I mean everything about her screams the 1800s and 1900s--her obedience to husband, her dress and mannerisms, her near constant sacrifices (which is commendable but annoying when that is all she does), and her inability to handle anything that involves the outside world. Her daughters or Kshitij have to lead, see just stands there. Savitri--Pick up the f******g newspaper that comes to your niwas. Remember the one Gauri was featured in (prostitution raid)? Turn on CNN or even the Indian news. I mean it's 2007, woman! Do you have a TV....because I haven't seen anyone watching it on the show. Go get your nails done, gossip, have your friends come over for lunch. You can still be a loving, devoted wife while pampering, nurturing yourself too. Of course, some of the time!

Lakshmi while she is strong and willful (jhansi ki rani) too displays some weird tendencies. Not telling father about Karan, taking Karan's abuse so that her dad doesn't feel bad, being a hypersensitive and out-of-control woman as of late.

True ...and how I have constantttttly talked about this in my posts ! It is shameful that women r portrayed this way in Tv serials .
They showed Surya looking for a job when thrown out by his son . Did Savitri , with her cooking skills start a tiffin business or catering business to chip in ? Nope. They will show her doing poojas and crying and giving oaths to God ....Illnot eat a grain of food till my hubby comes back ....she has strenght to do this , but not to do something and earn on her own . She will live first , on the charity of her husband who treated her like dirt coz she cudnt produce a male heir ...then , on the charity of her son in law , and perhaps , after Yuvraj improves truly , on the charity of her step son , but she will never ever think of becoming independent enough so that no one in the world will treat her unjustly again .
Neither will she give her daughters this wisdom . She will tell them to do Karva chauths , worship husbands who kick them , obey dominating motherinlaws simply coz they r elders , and feel proud that although my daughter suffered in sasural she didnt utter a word....see her suffering capacity !!! Just like my daughters ...she will also teach them to believe in false concepts of honour and keep on suffering .
Thw women in Betiyaan , will never read a newspaper , learn driving , operate a laptop , travel by public transport to a university or office , manage the accounts of their father's business , fight a tough legal battle with their greedy brother , or learn a practical skill like changing a light bulb or observing the rise and fall of the share market .
They will wear chiffon saris , stand behind their weeping mom and sob even more helplessly than her , attend various types of poojas.., regard becoming pregnant as the biggest joy of their life and have no knowledge of the world but face house politics the full day , and eventually , even fail in that gp00.
