This episode has to be my favourite episode out of the 6 episodes we've had. I liked the others as well but this one certainly takes away prize because of the 'family don't end with blood' feels it had. Folks, watch this episode ASAP, you won't be disappointed. I haven't checked who wrote this episode but whoever did, sending you virtual bouquets enough to cover your entire room. ❤️ And because I loved the episode so much, I'm going to do a gif-thingie post for it.

<3 ❤️ moments.

I could have posted gifs covering the episode but you all would have cursed me for having eaten up your data limit and thus, you see the 6 of those golden moments. ❤️ Episodes like these and my faith in these characters and love for them inherently increases by infinity. To me, Sam, Dean and Jody are more of a real family. Jody's more of a mother to them than Mary can ever be. I'm so deeply disappointed in Mary that I won't talk about her, at least not in this main post. I'll rant away after I have finished this one off. Bless SPN for introducing a character like Jody Mills and for not killing her off. Yet. Yeah, there's always a yet because this is Supernatural. Although, I sincerely hope she makes it alive through the journey of this show and live to tell the tales of Sam and Dean Winchester.

+ Moments.

Any of those scenes and more of them, tell me you didn't chuckle or cheer. Dean still proud on killing Hitler, witch-hunter twins protecting Sam's personal boundaries when they had just met or the hunters party exorcising the demon together. The people/family who exorcises together, stays together. Yep, I just said it. 😆

- moments.

BASICALLY. Most of Mary's scenes except for the last scene with Bille, Sam and Dean. That too because her refusing gave Sam and Dean a hope of them going back to being a family again.

MORE of such incredible episodes, please. PLEASE. PRETTY PLEASE. THE FANDOM SURVIVES ON THEM PLEASE. Sigh. <3

I started your day with that dialogue BTW

Edited :-

See, I told you...this one was one of the best episodes this season. It had everything, a good story/case, beautiful moments between the brothers and Jody, sensible scenes related to the Mary track etc.

You've covered every moment that I loved myself for e.g -

1. Dean and Sam's entry into Jody's house, the entire moment post that where they chill and hog and tease (after pretty long) was so pleasing to watch. Jody is a beautiful character and the way they made her meet Mary and read the distress and reach out for help was touching.

2. Sam telling Mary why Dean's behaving the way he is (rightfully) It's wonderful how while he understands her he also gets why Dean's acting like this. And Dean hasn't had to tell her what he feels, Sam just knows, because he knows him and because perhaps is going through the same. I love how like initially it was Dean being a bridge between his father and Sam, Sam is trying to be that for Mary and Dean.

3.When Dean sees the Reaper the first person he shouts for is Sam, when he enters the house the first person he calls for is Sam too, and that just once again emphasizes what this shows about 😊

4. I loved the concept of all hunters being under one roof, working as a team...And Dean and Sam being legends there 😆

5 That scene where Dean and Sam talk about dying on the job and Dean being pro on it (I felt that scene was abrupt) But I hope they build on it. Dean thought it was the best way to go and Sam disagreed...I would have loved to hear more on it.

The entire episode was brilliant. Dean's pain breaks my heart and as always makes me want to hug him. And Sam's patience and love for his brother and mother makes me proud. It's not easy for BOTH brothers to have a parent that died 33 years ago, who was the reason they got into this life and lost so many people, come alive...and then personally choose to leave them. Sam is (at least on the surface) dealing with this a lot better than Dean. Who had high expectations from the get go and is reeling under the hurt.

I understand where Mary comes from TBH. It's not easy to come alive to a world you don't fit in and aren't a part of. But I still can't warm up to her character for many reasons yet. She sounds and seems like a hypocrite and callous woman as off now.

For e.g - She always seems vocal her children got into hunting and for all the hate she has for this life, she was yet hunting when Dean was a year old.

There's so much more she says and does that I can't relate to. Because like Dean I believe a family can't understand each other better apart. They can be under one roof and give each other space too...if space is what she seeks. But a 33 year gap can't be filled with more distance.

Let's talk about Asa Fox first. In all of the seasons, every goddamn starting bit is gory and shitty and scary (not to me) - I repeat, not to me. But Asa Fox's end scared the crap out of me. For, I thought he's killed himself. The whole hunter lifestyle decoded before my eyes. For me, the scariest beginning of any episode was this.

And then you've just about covered up everything that I liked from the episode.

Goddamnit, Dean Winchester is a scared man. My heart, my heart goes out to the fear and pain that Dean drinks away and Sam probably reads and eats-healthy away. Oh my freaking lord, this whole episode was all about the inevitable doom of the hunter kind.

I agree that Jody is more a mother to them any day that Mary can be. But Mary is not entirely wrong, and she loves her boys. I get her, disappointing as she is. But how that breaks Dean's heart progressively each day, dammit.

And Amara thought this would be perfect for Dean. 🤣

Loved this episode ❤️ and agree with you 200% that this is the best episode of this season.. from whatever limited epis they have aired..

loved the entire epi.. it had that drama.. suspense, unpredictability, and most of all family moments.. Loved the fact that the writers have once again shown us Demons are powerful beings.. not the sad, ranting, formal clothes clad sorry figures that would only know how to threaten and rebel against Crowley.. loved how the writers beautifully tied Mary into Asa's story.. had everybody from his mom to his friends, children come for his funeral..

And i think this is the first time in quite a few seasons that they have used the devil's trap for capturing Demons.. otherwise woh knife se hi kaam chalate the.. 😳 Although Billie looked out of place.. perhaps she was required for the last scene.. Also, i dont know if i am the only one.. but Jody during her possession was too high pitched and had OTT dialogue delivery... rather than being menacing, she managed to evict a WT* out of me.. and it helped a lot that the scene was shot in darkness.. otherwise.. it would have made for more embarrassment.
Loved her otherwise.. in the last scene.. with Mary and the Winchesters in the bg ❤️

Loved how Sam tried to pacify Mary when Dean rightfully cold shouldered her.. 😃 and once again, its Sam who puts his arm around her shoulder and leads her out while Dean is the one who offers to take her for breakfast..
The makers have always shown through such small scenes, that Sam is Mary's fav or rather both the parents' fav child, while Dean is second best.. for them..

PS- Am not looking forward to Mr. 'Covered his eyes with Kajal '''. Its an insult to Lucifer's character that he chose such a weak, emaciated, drug addict for a vessel!!!! 😡

I apologise, I don't really come back and reply to each one of you but that's more because you all cover all that I would have said. I'm just going to reply to specific points each one of you raised.

@Anku - Agreed, mann. As much as I get where Mary's coming from, her need for space and her need to rediscover things on her own but she's just coming off as a hypocrite and selfish woman. Something tells me the writers are all set to ruin Mary's character. I hope I'm proven wrong though. Because she's after all, Mary Winchester. I'd hate to watch someone so important to Sam and Dean turn into someone they and I don't recognise or relate to.

@K - Yes, indeed. For a minute, I thought Asa killed himself but then I noticed the direction of the rope with which he was hanged. IKR? Someone go tell Amara Dean's not happy, she wouldn't like the news. 😆

@Choco - I can safely say Mary's pissing 50% of the fandom off. 😆

@flutter - I don't think so. I think Kim was required to act that certain way. She was possessed by a crossroads demon and demons are of all kinds. I'd disagree, Sam and Dean both have their own ways of offering support to people. Dean offering Mary to buy all the bacon she'd want for breakfast wasn't any less than Sam putting his arm around her. Both gestures show thought, effort, care and love. I don't know about Mary as I am yet to understand her but I personally believe John loved both his boys equally. Lucifer should have died last season, we've had enough of him already. His story line is beyond exhausted now.

Husna.. is it? 😳 I agree with you on both the sons being loved equally... i feel sometimes, that it is usually Sam who everybody fusses over, and Dean was the one who was forced to grow up too soon, also the hug Sam and Mary shared was much warmer and longer than the hurried, weird hug that she and Dean shared in the season premier.. so also, Dean loves too much and worries that he hurts people all around, hence keeps some distance between himself and everybody around him.. which is why i feel he is less loved, but i agree this is not the case.

but in Kim's case.. even one of the twins and one other hunter was possessed, (the one who had his neck twisted), werent they? Yet they didnt have such a high pitched dialogue delivery.. like Kim.. Even if it was a cross road demon, they dont usually shout and behave like they are on a high.. like Kim was asked to enact.. I mean.. the demon laughs and mocks, but doesnt shout and hyperventilate like Kim did for that scene.. it isnt her fault of course, but it could have been toned down.

Somehow, i didnt like it and i felt that it was masked (thankfully) by the lights going out at the correct time.. this somehow worked in favor of the scene.. masking the OTTness.

^^ I personally did not find it OTT at all. More so because I don't know if it was Kim's acting when she wasn't supposed to act that way or if she was actually supposed to be acting that way. Can't judge because we don't know if it was the character or the actor. Right now, Mary isn't fussing over any of the boys. 😆

it was an amazing episode... finally got time to finish it up... loved this epi...
i loved these things in the episode :
-dean sam and jody r family. period. they were bickering, laughing,, enjoying with each other and already cares for each other a lot... it was refrrshing to see them having a laugh...
-mention of garth. so he is still remembered or mentioned atleast.. dats cool
-the whole hunters group was cool. everyone has their own strength...
-dean jody and mary sam talks.. it just warms my heart that how jody was there for dean and tried to work out with words... and oh sammy... i love it more n more how he understands dean and explains that to Mary... mY boys... awww..*add bear hugs emos*
-i loved that dean was most worried for sammy when he came to know about the supernatural house lockdown... gosh he was worried for sam and even after coming inside house he called for sammy... gosh... this dude... but whats with favour with billie. i hope it doesnt turns out to be an extreme choice of some sorts for dean. hope the favour doesnt demand something very imp to him.
-the whole everyone played their part in exorcism. there was a kind of thrill n chill in the episode... shout out to the writers...
-after such a long time finally saw a "demon" demon... it was cool...
-RIP asa fox.
P. s i do understand where Mary is coming from but tht doesnt make it easy to forget and move on.
Not every family will get goodwill after some space. sometimes space makes relationships distant...
