Let bygones be bygones, is the latest mantra of mentor Ekta Kapoor and prot?g? Smriti Irani. As a good-will gesture Smriti will host a segment of Ekta telly awards to be held in Dubai, free. Does this spell Smriti's return to Kyunki… as Tulsi?

All's well that ends well. Ekta Kapoor and Smriti Irani have sorted out their differences. In all likelihood, Smriti will return as Tulsi to Ekta's flagship show Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi.

After their split turned into an ugly spat on stage in a television awards fuction held last month, Smriti sent a friendly message to Ekta who reverted to her immediately. The two of them have been having long conversations on phone since the past one-week. As a gesture to their renewed relationship, Smriti will host a segment of Ekta Kapoor's telly awards in to be held in Dubai, without charging a penny.

Our source from Balaji says, "Balaji offered Smriti her fee, but Smriti flatly refused to take any money. She is doing this for Ekta Kapoor. She loves and respects Ekta very much. The two of them have reconciled, like the good old days."

Smriti confirms that she is hosting the show out of her love and respect for Ekta. Ekta on the other hand says she is moved by Smriti's gesture. Referring to the exchange of messages that happened at the awards function, Ekta says, "That was a friendly banter. We have had friendly banters like those, even when Smriti was part of Kyunki. Too much was being read into that. Everything is fine now."

Actually, Balaji wanted Smriti to return to Kyunki… about one-and-half months back. But Smriti had an offer from Zee TV to do Teen Bahuraniyaan. Balaji asked Smriti to drop Teen Bahuraniyaan and take up Kyunki. However, Smriti went on to do Teen Bahuraniyaan.

Balaji did not mind that, but her entry in Teen Bahuraniyaan did not make much difference to its ratings. Balaji made a note of this and the Creative team at Balaji started wondering if Smriti's return to Kyunki would indeed benefit the show!

Our source from Balaji adds, "At the moment Smriti does not have much to do in Teen Bahuraniyaan. However, Smriti's re-entry in Kyunki is not ruled out."

But, our source informs that chances of her re-entry in the show are just a bit lesser than what they were when it was offered to her on a platter, but she chose Teen Bahuraniyaan.

The million dollar question is: What happens to Gautami Gadgil Kapoor who has replaced Smriti, if and when she returns as Tulsi?
