Hey guys!Somehow, I just want to skip ahead and write about Shivika married and together and happyđ
Hope you guys like it
A bleary eyed Rudra crashed into someone, and shouted loud enough to wake the entire Oberoi household and that, judging by its size, was saying something.
'Bhaiya! Aap raat ke paune chaar baje morning walk ke liye nikle ho kya? Dekho bhaiya, I know you're getting old but not that old that you wake up at the crack of dawn. Abhi kuch time pehle toh shaadi hui hai, jaao enjoy karo'
Rolling his bloodshot grey eyes at the antics of his youngest brother, one of the most successful industrialists of Asia, Shivaay Singh Oberoi, currently sleep-deprived, shook his head,
'Woh, Anika ke liye kuch cheezein order kari thi, they should be here soon', he said a little shyly.
Rudra's eyes widened at this
'Bhaiya, aapko har waqt romance hi soojhta rehta hai? How sweet mere bhaiya, kya gifts mangwaye hain di ke liye?'
'Gifts nahi, just some stuff she likes to eat. Woh, aaj fast rakh rahi hai na'
'But Anika didi doesn't believe in it, then...OH, for family?'
Nodding his head in answer, Shivaay stayed silent, marveling at how she had bitten his head off for forty minutes when he had insisted affectionately that she could cheat. She had turned on him like a wildcat, and proceeded to regale him with a tale about what she had threatened to do to the vegetable vendor who had attempted to cheat her in.excruciating.detail.while.he.tried.to.work.
It was something, living with her. He had overheard some vicious whispers about his wife at some business dinner or the other: People claimed that his honeymoon phasal obsession with his new wife will fade quickly when she started to annoy him.
Unfortunately, Anika had heard that and had remained ominously silent for the rest of the dinner, holding his hand under the table so he would not throw or break something at the closest target.
Instead, smiling coolly, he stared at the offensive woman and whispered under his breath a magical word that had never failed to elicit a smile from his beloved partner
'Tadibaaz'
And as he had planned, Anika choked on her pasta and laughed her happy laugh again.
And now, almost a year later, he still lived to hear her laugh every day and breathed easy when she was around.
His cell phone pinged once, to let him know the delivery had been made. Collecting the stuff from the guard, he left Rudra grumbling about his girlfriend Soumya while he unpacked everything and put it in plates for Anika, only to be observed by Omkara.
Whistling as he worked, Shivaay picked up two plates filled with the street delicacies Anika enjoyed eating. If she was fasting, he might as well give her something nice to eat.
'Om? What are you doing standing here in the corner?'
'Nothing, I was watching you work. Shivaay, do you realize, if a year ago, someone had shown you this scene of you piling street food on plates for Anika, you would have fired them from whatever job they happened to be at, and broken a phone or two in the process'
Smiling, Shivaay gestured to Om to continue
'But now, look at you. You're a changed man, a better man. Maine kaha tha na tujhse that she would have made you a better man? I am so glad Shivaay. I was so scared when you came to me that night so long ago, crying, in complete pain, when you found out Anika had been poisoned'
Shivaay suppressed a shudder at the memory of that long dark night when he did not know whether Anika would be alive in the morning.
'Thank you Om. That was truly the night I accepted what she meant to me. And while I'd love to chat, I have a hungry, sleepy wife to feed'
Grinning, he left Om to his own thoughts and went to his room.
'Anika...'
The word left his lips like a prayer. He was never ready for that breath that he took in every time he saw Anika after a time lapse.
Who knew this would happen to him? Who knew that he would be so dependent on her existence to even have a chance at living himself, an existence which will apparently now go to waste in sleep.
'Anika! Wake up'
'Uff Baagad billa, sone do! Shaadi ho chuki hai, par tang karna nahi band kiya inhone'
'Anika, watch it!'
'UFF, ab neend mein bhi ladenge kya? So jaaiye aake'
Exasperated, Shivaay kept the plates on a nearby table and finally shook Anika awake.
'What happened to fasting?'
'Arre haan! Right, of course. I got it. I'm up I'm up'
But then, she groaned and seemed to disappear under the duvet.
Shivaay heard her mumble
'But I don't want to have the sargi food'
Shivaay gently peeled the duvet off of her
'You don't have to. See, I know you well, my Panika. Here's your food'
Anika's eyes widened with delight and she jumped up on the bed
'Shivaay!! Oh Shivaay, you are the best! THANK you!'
Saying which she promptly jumped into Shivaay's waiting arms.
'OH MY MAATA, ANIKA!'
Before Shivaay could appropriately respond, his mother, Pinky, stood horrified at the door
'Shivaay. Chhod usko! Neeche utaar. Jab dekho romance karte rehte hain'
Her eyes fell on the food on the table and she said drily
'Waah mera beta, apni mom ke liye toh kabhi itna love nahi aaya'
Asking Anika to come quickly, she left the embarrassed couple alone.
'Waise, mom is right. I would never do this for anyone else' Shivaay said, putting his arms around her.
'SOCHNA BHI MAT. Nahi toh one of those elegant heels you love to see me in will land right on your head' , laughing she quietly embraced him, holding on tight to the man who had given her himself, all of him and asked for nothing but her love and all her attention.
Shivaay.
Who knew that the guy who had been his nemesis would become her partner for life.
She was secretly happy to fast for him, and she always enjoyed his attention.
Staring into his eyes, she thanked him.
Shivaay knew she wasn't thanking him for the food, but for the family he had given her. As far as his love was concerned, that was not something she should have been thankful for. She deserved it and more. She deserved every happiness in the world, and he would give it to her if he could help it. And Shivaay Singh Oberoi always got what he wanted.
'Your happiness, Anika, is all that matters to me. Mere liye, tum kaafi ho. Life se aur kuch nahi chahiye', Shivaay said, cupping her sweet face.
'Same to same'
Holding his hands, Anika thought about how sometimes wishes were fulfilled, that sometimes, the God above did listen to stray thoughts of orphans like her. She was truly lucky that she had a family, with sisters, brothers, grandparent, two mothers, and two father figures. And Shivaay, the man who had ultimately made it happen.
Phew, okay so I know this was very cheezy and meh. But I just wanted to write somethingđđđ
Don't be too harsh okay?
