Hi everybody. My name is Fia and I am new to this show and to this forum. I haven't been using IF regularly for quite some time now, neither have I been watching many shows, just a few episodes here and there if I manage to find time. On one such occasion, I came across YRKKH. I have been aware of this show since quite a few years, but it never grasped my interest, until recently. I'm sure you guys might have already guessed it. I caught a glimpse of the "Khuda Jaane" dream sequence of the Switzerland story line between Karthik and Naira and instantly got hooked by their chemistry. I have started watching the previous episodes, since Naira and Karthik's entry, and I must admit that they are an amazing onscreen couple.
Now coming to this post, from whatever I have seen so far, I can't help but feel that Gayu will definitely manage to come between Karthik and Naira. It would come as no surprise to me if Naira backs off when she finds out about Gayu's feelings for Karthik, regardless of her confession. She will definitely sacrifice her love for her sister, as is the norm with Indian shows. I feel that we are in for a great amount of Gayu-Karthik torture. I apologize to all Gayu fans if they feel offended, but honestly, I have never seen a more bland character in my life. She isn't providing much to the story line, and even if her character gets axed one of these days, it would not affect the story one bit. All we have seen of her so far is her creepy desperation for a guy who is clearly not interested in her. She is pining over someone who was kind to her out of the generosity of his heart, not because he felt attracted towards her. Even a blind person could realize that. Don't know on what basis Gayu has created this fantasy world where she thinks Karthik is her soulmate.
To me, this story will go in two possible ways. But both ways end towards the same destination. Karthik-Gayu getting engaged. But briefly, I hope. From my experience of Indian shows, when a love triangle consists of two girls and one guy, the other girl always manages to somehow get engaged to the guy for a short period of time, till whatever misunderstandings were holding the lead couple apart are cleared. What might happen is that when everyone finds out about Gayu's feelings towards Karthik, they will do whatever they can in order to pursue marriage between them. Not knowing about Naira and Karthik's feelings for each other, they will obviously be elated by this fact. Now either Karthik will agree to get engaged to Gayu due to his anger towards Naira for rejecting him and this would be his last attempt to either make her realize her feelings or just move on altogether, or Karthik would be trying to describe or tell about the girl he loves to Akshara or someone else, and they will just assume that he loves Gayu, hence, trapping the poor guy into a mysterious engagement where he would assume it's Naira, but infact, it's Gayu with whom his alliance has been fixed and he'd stay quite as to not hurt anyone.
Either way, there is a high chance of Gayu and Karthik getting engaged to add more drama and to prolong Naira and Karthik's love story. At least, that's the route most Indian shows end up taking. And the guy usually ends up with the second girl but I'm hoping that this is not the case here because there is a vast majority of Naira-Karthik fans. Another reason I think the story is headed for a very long separation between Naira-Karthik is the fact that they have shot numerous dream sequences between them and have exhausted all sorts of any possible romantic scenes. The makers probably did this to placate the fans for when they will have to endure Gayu and her melodrama. I sincerely hope this is not the case and somehow, they end this love triangle track and Gayu moves on, but Indian shows are usually typical and follow the same path. I am all for a sensible separation track, but this so-called love triangle needs to end. Gayu's character is extremely dull and is not contributing much to the story apart from her obsession with Karthik. Not to mention the fact that I don't sense any chemistry between the actors. It's all very forced and needs to stop.
