BARC Report Week 41: Naagin 2 ousts Brahmarakshas from the top position!

Naagin 2 takes a whopping opening at the BARC charts, ousts leader Brahmarakshas from the top five to make a thunderous impact!

Ever since Naagin 2 was announced, everyone was anxious to know how it would fare on the TRP charts. The first season burnt the competition sticking on the No.1 slot since its entire run of seven and a half months. Naagin 2 hit the TV on November 8 and everyone was keen to know what the TRPs would be. The actors were repeatedly asked if they felt the pressure of holding onto the No.1 slot at the press meet. The answer was the same. They maintained that as artistes they could put in 200 percent and the rest was in the hands of the masses. Now, the verdict is out! It looks like the efforts of Ekta Kapoor,Mouni Roy and team have made the initial impact.

Naagin 2 has taken the No. 1 slot in week 41 in urban and urban plus rural sector categories. Season one of Naagin is the No.1 programme in the rural belt. It airs on Rishtey. It has boosted the numbers of Colors taking it to the second position. The channel was on the third place since a long time and Naagin was the push it needed. Season 2 stars Karanvir Bohra, Mouni Roy and Adaa Khan along with Sudha Chandran, Lalit Bisht and Malhar Pandya. Mouni plays a double role of Shivanya and Shivangi in the series.

Well, the anticipation for the show was huge ever since the first promo came out on the last episode of season one. The subsequent promos have been extremely interesting and kept the audience interested. Ekta and co played it well by retaining the core group of Mouni, Adaa and Sudha. With a new story, fresh backdrop and faces, there is some curiosity value as well. Adaa is back in a glamorous avatar and people are loving it. Now, it remains to be seen how it sustains itself.

It is a double celebration for Colors as Shakti: Astitva Ke Ehsaas Ki took the second position. The drama of Soumya's (Rubina Dilaik) rescue is giving it the momentum and viewers are keen to know when Harman (Vivian Dsena) and she will reunite on the show.

Naagin 2 is moving at a fast pace and we will soon see Shivangi's mother, Shivanya being killed. The love triangle and Shesha/Ruchika's obsession track has also picked up and we are seeing Mouni romancing Karanvir. Naagin 2's thunderous start has proved that the audience's appetite for the supernatural series is still there and makers just have to dish it out right!
