I read the WU and dreaded watching the serial. I watched online the Dev Sona arguement skipped the GKB, Vicky.
There are two different issues here.
1. Dev Sona arguement. Or Dev lashing on Sona.
As real as it gets. Does that mean Dev is right. Of course not. But is he wrong. Of course not. He asked for space. He needed that space. I was that scene and was reminded of the Bidai scene where Sona just came. And as she was going calm and composed , Dev stopped her and poured his heart out. Was Dev expecting that I don't know. But he really didn't expect a probing wife. He wasn't ready to talk of his past and live through that while explaining it to Sona. That conversation could have happened another day.
2. Taunts by the GKB, Vicky ( they are not even the Dixits)
And here I think Sona has been trying to handle it herself and playing the mahan card. Muah dikhayi we saw Mami taunt her and Sona giving it back. Dev didn't stop her. He actually supported her. So as far as Dev is concerned Sona can handle Mami. He doesn't give an importance to what Mami thinks so he doesn't care.
But if Vicky and Mami cross the line Sona has to sit down and have a conversation with Dev. Guys are clueless that way. We women tend to catch all the meanings between the lines.
So far we have never seen Sona share with Dev about Mami. Because if he does and Dev doesn't stand up for her. We can be angry with Dev. But for her self respect asking Mami to back off can be done by her and if she cannot she should talk to Dev.
Feeling like an outsider is what either one feels in the others home. Dev also is an outsider in Sona's home and Sona is still finding her footing in the Dixit clan. But again when Dev told her about not needing to keep the fast she has to explain how she still feels like an outsider.
Unless she doesn't share Dev isn't going to be able to understand her concerns and if he isn't then she will continue to read between the lines and pile on more making every matter or issue about herself and like Dev said it is not about you.
But for Sona the Vicky matter ended up being about her as she is asking for her right to participate in the family decisions.
Split the issue and deal with each one of them separately. By mixing both there is going to be nothing but a khichdi.
Right wrong aside. Is it real? As real as it gets. Grey is the colour of the season.
