The so called king kumar (who have sang similar kind of mid scale songs again and again and again all his carrier is known as NASAL monotonous singer ) and udit (good voice) even are not close to Sonu Nigam when it come to singing ...Udit and Shanu were good but not as good as Sonu ...Udit and Shanu were normal crooners they even can not sing classical songs so better dont insult sonu by comparing him with likes of shanu and udit ...all respect to udit shanu but its a fact sonu outshined them both when it come to singign capabilities so get your facts correct

Udit Narayan is my favourite but I like all singers from the 90s.

Sonu Nigam really broke through in 1997. He did nothing in the first 7/8 years (1990-1996). So for me he was the King of the 00s.

Throughout the 90s my absolute favourite was Udit Narayan. Much Neend Na Aaye to Dil To Pagal Hai were my jams.

But now I appreciate Kumar Sanu a whole lot more - his vocals were majestic.

His songs with Nadeem Shravan are evergreen (Aashiqui, Deewana, Dil Ka Kya Kasoor)

Sonu had his first hit acha sila deya in 95 ,, abhi saans lene ke fursat nahi hai 95 , 3 songs in booby deol barsaat , whole album of film azmaayesh choriyaan banti hai dukanon main was a big hit , mere kalajay se aow lipat ke so jow from agnishakshi jaake shorff film ..Sonu have his share of songs since 1995 only ...aaina bata kase unka dil churana hai from mohabbat many more ...he have sang various genre song in 90's only cant snatch away the credit of his songs entirely from 90's...udit shanu for sure were dominating but they sang similar kind of songs all 90 n 2000 ... Sonu proved his versailtity in 90's only

I agree that Sonu is very versatile. I also find Udit Narayan quite versatile.

Kumar Sanu's voice is beautiful for romantic tracks but I cannot imagine him pulling off Mitwa from Lagaan or Rang De Basanti Chola from Bhagat Singh.

I like a lot of different singers from the 90's but Sonu Nigam is one of my favorites.
