Chopras ban Amrita Rao

When Amrita Rao refused to be a part of Yashraj's film with Ranbir Kapoor repercussions were bound to happen. The Chopras do not take a 'no' lightly — ask Vidya Balan who's still waiting to bag her first film from the banner after refusing not one, but two of their films.

Minishaa Lamba has been roped in to play the role Amrita was initially approached for. Minishaa is delighted to join the cast that includes Bipasha, Katrina and Deepika Padukone.

Not wanting to get lost in the bevy of beauties might have been a smart move for Amrita then, but seems she has lost out on the prestigious banner for good. One of the assistants working with the banners for years came up with a script and Yashraj people were only too glad to produce it, and the young gun was to direct the film himself. Only when he mentioned Amrita Rao's name as the leading lady he had envisioned for his film did trouble begin.

Chopras were averse to having her in any of their projects and they clearly stated so to the debutante director, who is said to have fallen in line. Can't blame him, he still has to make his first film happen. Wonder what happens to Amrita Rao? No wonder she's been sending feelers and apologising — a bid at operation damage control.
