Born in a typical middle class family Shashank hails from Ujjain and came to Mumbai in 2009 to try his luck in acting on encouragement of a friend . His stay in Mumbai was full of struggles His friend left him in lurch and did not bother to attend his calls when he got off at Mumbai station Shashank joined Anupum Kher's acting academy and got training for acting To make place for himself in the glittering showbiz was a tough task He gave several auditions and got modelling assignments . He did some cameo roles in Sony TV 's Rishta.com ( 1 episode 2010 )as teenage boy who wanted to be romeo nd in movie Tees Maar Khan ( 2010) as a teenager village boy

In mid 2010 he was selected through a nation wide talent hunt to play the male protagonist Jagdish Singh /Jagya on colors serial Balika Vadhu -kachi umer k pake rishte as the serial took a leap of 5 years . Shashank made his entry in the serial on 27th july 2010 and won the hearts of viewers His outstanding performance in the serial got him rave views from critics and viewers , it made him a household name He was nominated for many awards for best debut and best actor and got the best male debut at new talent achievement awards and at global indian film and tv honors He was also honored at colors golden petal awards for best character portrayal . After successfully performing the character for 5 years in the Balika Vadhu , he quitted the show in july 2015 as he felt the character had nothing more left for him to explore and also after the leap of 11 years the character became too old for him to play , he wanted to do his age roles Shashank wanted to more try out more opportunities and did not want to be a typecast but the fame of his erstwhile onscreen character carried a grave danger of over-shadowing his subsequent ventures and so Shashank took a decided break as he went about his life. As Shashank elaborated in an interview, "The Jagya' image was following me everywhere like a ghost. The hangover was too much. I desperately needed to get away from the image... but breaking free from it would obviously not been an overnight process since I played the character non-stop for five years. I needed to do something out of the ordinary, so I intentionally took a long break and thankfully it has paid off.''

After the break of 13 months Shashank returned to television screen in a new role , as the male protagonist of the serial Jana na dil se door Capt Ravish Vashist His entry was the most talked about entries in any show , as people were eager to see back on screens He came back to screens with a bang and made a mark with his entry . He is getting rave views for for his performance in the show , people are adoring him as Ravish Vashist

Appreciation Thread Rules

This Appreciation thread should be used to praise and appreciate Shashank and his character Ravish All discussions related to his performance, looks, style and personality is confined to this AT

Any negative(bashing/filthy language) comments/opinion on other characters/actors or on storyline that are not relevant to the thread's topic, scene or actor/characters scene with other characters should NOT be discussed here. Members can discuss relevant scene where other characters are involved but no speculation or hint about non-existent couple/love angle! Also NO discussion about other fan groups, forum members etc allowed in the ATs. We are forced to implement this restriction because many members asked for a place where they can discuss about their favorites while being free of the negativity towards them that they might encounter elsewhere in the main forum. Main purpose is bond here with other members who like the same thing, while being free of negativity towards what they like.

Chatting - Members seem to be more into chatting so please reduce the personal chatting because we do have a chat club for that purpose so keep that in mind. However, we do allow minimum chatting in ATs, provided it is related to this AT alone. Do not spam the thread with pictures, creations, one liners like "I love XYZ" etc to finish the current ATs.

ATs are open for everyone, however, do not invade the AT with the purpose to rile up the fans or instigate them. Everyone has their right to voice out their opinions and should NOT be judged/generalized based on their likes/dislikes. If any of your fellow members/friends fails to follow the rules, kindly ask them to edit out or tell them it's wrong rather than joining them and aggravating the issues further and being equally responsible for carrying forward an unfavorable situation. Hence, be responsible and take responsibility because that way you may prevent action taken against your AT thread!

ATs/discussions threads can NOT be used to target other members and NO pinpointing activity/mock or taking digs here toward other fan groups. Any derogatory references or name callings against actors /characters/members/Dev team members are strictly PROHIBITED here.

Report -If you see anyone breaching the rules in any of the threads in the main forum, you will not come here and rant it out about it and snowball the issue further! Instead make use of the "REPORT" button and report the thread by stating the reason clearly. As soon as the Dev Team comes online they would take the necessary action.

If the DT sees more than 3 people breaking the AT rules consonantly, the effects of violations will kick start, which go as follows:

First Violation - Warning Note

2nd - Another Warning Note

3rd - Another Warning Note

4th - Close the AT for 24 hrs (1 Day)

5th - Close AT for 72 hrs (3 Days)

6th - Close AT for 1 week (7 Days)

7th - Get rid of AT completely from theForum/Shift it to Celebrity Fan Club Forum!

The rules are applicable for multiple violation and not single post as it will be dealt individually! Having said that, please do not assume that every report submitted by opposite fan group will be entertained. We will go through the reports and only if we find the report valid based on above rules, then we will speak to the Admins of the AT and action will be taken accordingly as stated above.

If anyone has any questions/queries/concerns regarding the AT Rules imposed in the forum, feel free to PM the GMs and forums viewbie!
