Kangana Ranaut's Woman of the year award was meant for Priyanka Chopra?
Rumours suggest Kangana Ranaut wasn't the first choice of Woman of The Year award. It was Priyanka Chopra instead.
Recently, Kangana Ranaut made a bold fashion statement at an awards ceremony. Her princessy gown and fierce lipstick shade made a lot of heads turn. Her golden streaks were making everyone admire her. She was the queen of the red carpet. All we could say was SLAY Kangana, SLAY! Ranveer Singh was also seen conversing with her briefly. Later, she walked away with the woman of the year award and that's where this story begins. It is heard that the trophy she bagged was meant for Priyanka Chopra first.
Kangana Ranaut recently was given the woman of the year award at an event. An insider tells us that initially the organisers had decided to give the award to Priyanka Chopra who totally deserves it this year. She has become a global name and is making waves. However, when they contacted her, she informed them that she won't be in India during the event as she will be shooting for her American TV show Quantico. Immediately, the organisers started shortlisting other actresses as they wanted one who would attend the event. And that's how Kangana bagged it. Now taking nothing away from anyone, we have to admit that both the ladies deserve the award. Kangana has proved again and again that she is enough to bring the crowd in. Her films have done more than 100 crore business riding completely on her shoulders. She didn't need a Khan to take her career forward. She should have ideally won the Woman of the Century award since such numbers for a female centric films are unheard of in Bollywood. But then Priyanka Chopra has made us proud globally and is doing it everyday. Quantico became huge because of her. America just can't get enough of her. The series already got its second season running which says enough about the actress. Also, she plays a baddie in Baywatch which will mark her Hollywood debut. To think that her role was first written for a man and then altered to fit her in speaks volumes about what Hollywood is hoping from PC. India is now a global sensation because of her. Guess that's why organisers wanted to give the award to her. But her unavailability made it go to one other woman of the year Kangana Ranaut.
