THAT MAGICAL NEW YEAR'S EVE

Tia walked out of the shower with a towel wrapped around her hair... trying to get ready for the party which she had no intention of going had it not for Meher's constant pleas.

she looked at her gloomy reflection in the mirror.. wondered how her life had changed over past few months...nothing excited her any more... not even the black halter top dress that her father sent her from Paris. Everything had just gotten too complicated in her life that the little things that excited her did not matter any more...
She had everything, a girl could ask for.
Except the one thing she wanted more than any amount of money, luck, or material possession could give her. Ranveer Sissodia

"oh why cant i forget ranveer ? why cant i go one with my life /why doesn't a day go by without me wanting to see him?
oh tia's god why do i love him with all my heart and soul? "
she closed her eyes for a moment hoping she would be able to get rid of the image of ranveer….. a silent tear dropped down her cheek . ..

"you take my breath away.... He stroked her cheek with the side of his hand softly. She began to open her eyes and ranveer leaned in to kiss her.

She was snapped out of her reverie by meher's shrill voice
"what!!!!! you are not yet ready... its already half past 5 the boys will be waiting for us and i don't want keep yuvi waiting" meher screamed throwing up her hands in the air

" Oh god…relax meher..." tia said rolling her eyes "its not cool to be on time.. besides all i need to do is to wear dis dress.. and i am ready"..meher was surprised at tia's obvious lack of enthusiasm tia always loved to get ready for the party.... to her that was the most exciting and interesting part . tia wished she was more in the mood for the party but meher was determined to have the time of her life......after all its her boyfriend yuvraj dev's party... "here let me help you get ready", meher offered
"thanks meher ..you are a sweetheart"
"why don't you wear that chanel black halter top dress or the pink one .. you know tia pink is really your colour...i want you to look smashing tonight ....and I am going to make sure u do"

Meher helped her put on her make up.. tia looked positively ravishing her make up was subtle .. her bronzed cheeks smoky eyes helped create the perfect look... her dark hair cascaded round her shoulder...
"wow tia!!!! as soon as you walk in dis wear the party is gonna stop and every person will gape at you.... meher was pleased as a punch with what she created.. "here let me put this straw berry lip gloss and then we re done..."

" are we ready for the party now?" she asked tia... "i told you meher tia ahuja is gonna make a fashionable late entrance.. after all tia ahuja hona koi aise waise baat nahi hain" so saying they laughed and hugged each other....

Meher and Tia left the room ..on to the waiting taxi... tia pretty much kept to her self for the rest of the ride

the party was in full swing when they arrived

..arjun was waiting near the entrance

" hey what took you so long.. whatever the reason may be .. its worth it!!... tia you look fab"

" thanks arjun " tia responded with a fake smile

the air inside the pub was smokey..and the music loud... meher spotted sid standing near the dj all by himself and walked over to him wanting to know where yuvi was? leaving tia alone with arjun

tia avoided eye contact with others she was afraid of spotting ranveer in the crowd.. the sight of ranveer with another girl made her sick

" come on tia let's dance"... arjun said smiling at tia and taking her hand led her towards the dance floor

he put a hand on her waist and began to lead her slowly. tia remained silent and unemotional

Ranveer was sipping coke and pretended to listen.. his thoughts were else were he kept thinking about tia all the time.. his eyes searched the crowd for only one reason and that being tia he had come to the party for her.....his eyes glanced around each face. every one seem to have the time of their lives.... aman and vrinda were dancing away to glory .. yuvi and meher were all over each other ...sid was flirting with some girls ..

then he spotted her.. his jaws dropped she looked so beautiful that it hurt.. ever since their first moment in the corridor the feeling remained the same…. she drove him crazy ...tia had dis strange power over him,. pulling him towards her .. he wanted to cherish her.. to protect her from any harm...

their eyes met for a brief moment.... unknowingly tears welled up in tia's eyes... she tried hard to swallow the lump in her throat. .she quickly dropped her eyes down trying to brush away the tears.

Ranveer's heart sank when he saw her with arjun...."Ranveer are you listening to what I am saying ?" reva said annoyed at ranveer's obvious lack of interest...

"oh I am sorry... reva I was thinking about ..hmm..the test tomorrow .."

"Don't you worry Ranveer ....about the test I will help you out.... i've got 100 in maths you see I am not a bimbo lik some of the girls here.. I am beauty with brains"..

Ranveer was so involved in his thoughts that he did not hear what reva said

tia and arjun walked over to the dance floor and started dancing.. when ever tia stole few glances she caught Ranveer staring at her.... the music changed to a slow number. Tia could feel ranveer's burning eyes on her, and it was making her nervous...

.....arjun was eager to show off his newly acquired dancing skills but still ended up stamping on Tia's toes several times during the course of the dance...

"i think you need to practice a little bit" tia said forcing a smile on her face...

"who could be better teacher than you tia " arjun retorted playfully ..."so when do we start the lessons, huh?" arjun grabbed tia's hand…

it broke ranveer's heart to see the girl he loved dancing with arjun.. ....the closer arjun got to tia the redder ranveer got with anger.. he was so furious that the glass he was holding cracked

Reva noticed that ranveer was looking more and more uncomfortable...and cursed tia for ruining her date with Ranveer

Varun who was sitting at the next table more closer to Ranveer than reva heard the sound of the cracking glass and turned to see Ranveer's hand bleeding

"you have hurt your self man!!!!! ....look at your hand you are bleeding..... come on lets put some band aid on "

Before Reva could fathom wat happened varun led ranveer towards the men's room in an obvious attempt to get him alone for a moment so that he could drill some sense in to him reg tia he knew that ranveer had feelings for tia whether he admitted it or not.. "Ranveer if u want to be with her..why don't u just go and ask her..will save you and us a lot of trouble you know..." Ranveer didn't reply..he let water flow over his hurt hand..and den tied a napkin around it and left….

varun found yuvi and sid near the bar.... sid was surprised to see varun coming to them

"hey dude enjoying the party" yuvi asked him offering him a glass of beer

"no thanks" varun declined ..

"come on man! its new years eve let your self go".. sid tried to coax him. "getting sloshed is not my idea of having fun and now on a serious note.. yuvi I've come to ask you a favour for ranveer ..

"is this about what i think its about" asked yuvi

"yes and we need to get rid of arjun...."

"this is a piece of cake for the master of fool proof plans ... aka me" said sid pointing towards himself with a smug expression ..

"master of hare brained themes is more like it" quipped yuvi "...anyways getting rid of arjun is not an easy task but certainly a pleasure" he grinned .."besides who knows this might help me score some browny points with mr cupid and one day i may end up with a girl as beautiful as tia" yuvi said laughingly

"yes man ranveer is so lucky".. sid sighed "he's so lucky to get tia...she is the dream girl of every guy in maurya high"

reva waited impatiently outside the men's room for Ranveer....looking like a vulture waiting to pounce on its prey when its vulnerable... Reva did not want let him out of her sight even for a moment seeing him come out she went towards him "come on ranveer... now that your wound has been taken care off ... lets dance" she grabbed ranveers hand and dragged him towards the dance floor..

tia scowled in disgust as she saw ranveer and reva walking towards her....

on their way they met vrinda and aman...

"you too are a couple or some thing.." reva asked them aman and vrinda looked at each other and smiled

"yes i guess we are" aman replied looking at Vrinda..as if asking her…

"you look gorgeous reva.. .. but i think your make up is smudged and your eye liner is every where except on your eyes.." she said softly to reva pretending to be concerned about her

"excuse me ranveer... i think i need to freshen up i will be back before you know it" she smiled at ranveer before leaving... all the 3 laughed watching her dash towards the rest room.. "thanks vrinda" said Ranveer laughingly

On her way reva bumped into meher... "hey watch where you are going… you .."

"oh i am sorry reva… i did not see you coming.." meher cut in…"having fun reva.. " meher continued..her voice filled with sarcasam

reva ignored her question…instead she retorted "why don't you tell your stupid friend tia to lay off my boy friend"

meher replied sweetly "he was never yours, reva and he never will be ...ranveer has eyes only for tia.. the sooner you wake up to that fact the better it is for you...besides everyone here with eyes can see they are meant for each other.. any one who comes in between only get burnt.. so get out reva.. before its too late"

"we will see about that" reva huffed before she walked away... meher looked at Reva' retreating figure with a mischevious grin for a while before following her towards the changing room and locked her in..

..at another part of the room..…. Arjun felt some one tap on his shoulder

he turned around to see Sid standing behind him.. "what is it flunky?" he asked glaring at him

Sid lost his courage for a moment then he regained it as he saw yuvi and varun egging him on from the other side

"dude ... its very urgent"

" it better be" Arjun added menacingly ".... otherwise you will find your self moping the corridor for the rest of your school days"

"man some guys were trying to act smart with mp... and yuvi got into a brawl with them .. please come with us"

Arjun had no choice but to leave tia, not before giving her a peck and promising to return asap

Tia was tired and exhausted and her feet hurt ... but she was relieved too... she did not want to be with arjun and was glad that he had gone...

as she was musing wat to do next….she turned around…and felt butterflies when she saw ranveer coming toward her

"hi Tia.." he whispered softly...as he reached near her...

"what are you doing here.. shouldn't u rather be with your date.." tia said glaring at him "anyways arjun will be back any moment now" turning her face away

"Tia... I am exactly where i want to be and with whom i want to be.. and besides don't be thinking about them Tia....they both being taken care off ".. Tia looked up surprised to find Ranveer grinning wildly...

as tia looked up into his smiling face…she realised how much she missed dat heart-stopping smile directed at her and everything abt him….

As Ranveer watched varied expressions on Tia's face…he became serious

"Tia i know that things are not always great between us but we do have our moments….and" ..he continued as he brought her face up to look into her eyes.. " i think we are having one right now..."

Tia felt his touch and the thrill she always felt when ranveer touched her like this.....as she felt his fingers running through her hair..she looked into his eyes......and felt her heart stop when ranveer said "may i have this dance Tia? "

They were slow dancing and ranveer's heartbeat increased with each beat.. tia moved close to him…her head was on his shoulder as they moved in slow circles

as the music carried on Tia and Ranveer found themselves dancing closer and closer... as he pulled her closer .. she looked into his eyes…..and everything around them faded into oblivion….all she could see was ranveer.. they stared at each other... they were so many words he knew he should say to her and der were so many things she needed to hear...

"lets getaway from hear tia ' he said softly near her ear. Before tia realized what's happening . ranveer waltzed her out of the floor in to the balcony looking over the sea shore.

the sun was now finally beginning to set and a beautiful orange glow lit up the garden and water .. reflecting on tia making her look even more resplendent..

ranveer just stared at her…tia lowered her eyes not wanting ranveer to see her blush…… it was so silent they could hear each other breathing…which was a little quicker than normal..

"now will you let go off my hand ranveer?.... you are hurting me .."

"I am sorry tia....i never want to hurt you"

"but you do it anyways don't you? "..tia accused and den "are you spying on me?"

"do you really believe that. Tia?" ranveer responded…..Tia looked down….."look at me tia.. look into my eyes and say it..." he gently caressed her face...tracing it slowly.... then planted a delicate kiss on her lips

"I never got a chance to tell you how beautiful you look tonight " cupping her face in his palms

tia could barely reply... her face turned pink to red...

"how about we complete what we started?", Ranveer added

"but Ranveer there is no music" tia said innocently

"close your eyes tia… can you her the sound of the waves?"

as tia complied.. he put his hands on the small of her back…took her hand and gently placed it on his shoulder.. as they moved slowly.. tia placed her head on his shoulder and smiled softly. It was amazing how secured she felt in his arms, like it was where she was meant to be. They moved to the rhythm of the waves.. which seemed to echo…the familiar tune of their love song…. ... na jane kaise lagta hain aise……she closed her eyes and lost herself in his arms.

Ranveer was mesmerized by her. He couldn't believe that he was dancing with her. No arjun no reva it was just tia and him and the sound of the waves.... " I wish this lasts forever" mused Ranveer..not realizing dat he said it loudly…tia looked up at that moment…knowing she felt the same…before she could say amen to that…a sudden sound of fireworks..made the lovebirds come out of the reverie and look up to the colorful sky which had cum alive with sparkles and glitters of fireworks celebrating the arrival of a whole new year….. filled with dreams and hopes…tia sensed ranveer's eyes on her and looked down towards him…dey smiled at each other..it was a good omen…

he bent down and kissed her cheek…

"happy new year tia"…Ranveer said smiling at her

"happy new year ranveer" tia responded smiling back

as they looked into each other's smiling eyes… they made a silent promise to each other..

Tia realized at that moment that she'll always love ranveer no matter what.. and Ranveer knew that he'll never stop loving her for the rest of his life
