Bollywoods China bazar stand on Gender Equality

So I was reading how Amitabh wants actresses name to be before his name during the credits to end gender prejudice. Cant it be argued that putting a woman before a man or vis a vis is still inequality to the other sex? Also how is it equality that he wants to put them before him like they are weaker sex?
When I use public transporation I only offer my seat to elders, people with disablities or women with babies. I do not offer my seat if there is a girl standing because I feel she is perfectly capable to stand on her own especially if she hasn't requested me. Assuming anything else would itself be prejudice against her and hence there is nothing ungentleman about it.

How does it serve anything whose name shows up first? I want to ask the women of this forum is it really a victory?

No.. it's not a victory.
I have some views on gender (neutrality).

But, I won't go there :p

I think.. his intention may have been good. So, whatever he feels according to his own definition or views on gender equality or, whatever he can do in his capacities to support it.
That's his business, IMO.

But is it victory? No.. it rather reinforces the fact that women are weaker section. And, the credits should've been arranged in order of alphabet or in order of appearance or something.. that's a better option. But... maybe his intention was good

BW has become equal in one aspect. In olden days only women were exploited for roles. Now a days men also have to face casting couch Ka ouch 😆

It certainly is not a victory. This sorta issue crops up every season during Big Boss. Some kooky female is always shouting ' Ladki se aise baat karte hain' etc etc while she herself goes on an abusing spree. BUT...BUT the guy is supposed to respond with caution cos he's a guy. Bechara. Gender equality gayi bhaad mein.

ITA with your point that women/girls should not expect men to give up their seats in buses or trains. They want gender equality? Then walk the talk man! On one hand some women want to be treated like invalids, want the man to act all gentlemanly but scream bloody murder when they get treated like they are treating the men. What equality? Same goes for women reservation in jobs and colleges. I'd agree to give it to weaker sections of the society irrespective of gender. This woman card is to conveniently played at times and I dislike it a lot. Wanna be equal? Then don't ask for special status.

Suddenly he is all hot and bothered with being a champion of women's rights but ends up stereotyping the very same thing he is fighting against. If this was really an issue then going side by side or by alphabet in order of appearance would be the way to go but this won't even him brownie points or mahanpanti.

leave BW, it same around our hypocrite world.barring few really worthy girls, there are many who go around "girls are equal" chants, and the moment something happens, I mean unusual to our present so called standards, they jump with "girls should not behave this way"/ "she is a girl, you cannot behave same as you do with a boy" and blah blah blah.So at the end of the day, whether power is with boy or girl, they are gonna misuse it.

And Amitabh, his preaching is bleh, he is actually supporting machismo in names of female empowerment 😆, Buddha forget that first rule of gender equality is don't distinguish as boy or girl or others.

It's always been the case. But you start to hear more of it now that the stigma is toning down and news spreads quicker on Internet
