Kumkum, in trying to force Antra back into all their lives, has really disrespcted feelings of Siya. Kumkum always said that Siya is like a daughter, but I do not think Kumkum has treated Siya like a daughter. Kumkum feels that Antara should get another chance (even though she had gotten many chances before in her marriage with Dhruv), and truly, it is fine for Kumkum to hold that opinion. But to force others to accept her opinion is wrong.
Moreover, I think Kumkum has been really callous towards Siya in all this "accepting Antara" business. Kumkum never once thought about how Siya's heart was broken by Dhruv before and allowed, in fact, encouraged that scenario again. Rather than try to inform Dhruv about the existence of Antara and his child, she behaved as if he had to make a choice between his biological son and Siya. She made him feel guilty about wanting to wed Siya, making it seem that then his ties to his son would be broken. She made him feel guilty and emotionally reconsider his decision, even though she knew that choosing Antara and her son by default meant not choosing Siya. And she did all this just before he was due at the altar to wed Siya. Kumkum has fallen in my eyes as a result of her callous behavior towards Siya.
And to think... Siya always treated Kumkum like a mother. But Kumkum? I cannot say the same. Kumkum, I think, sometimes is obsessed with the idea of trying to achieve the "devi" status. Because she wants to prove herself selfless in trying to accept Antara despite how Antara tried to ruin and did ruin all their lives before. But in trying to achieve her "devi" status, Kumkum has been seflish. She cares more about Antara, who always hated Kumkum, than Siya, who always loved Kumkum. 🤢
And what's worse about all this is that Kumkum was the one who wanted Siya to enter Dhruv's life when he was depressed... So, she used Siya. When she felt that Dhruv's mental and emotional state had stabilized due to his love for Siya, she felt Siya was disposable. Siya's use was over since Kumkum believed Antara could now fulfill the void left when Siya left from Dhruv's life because Antara gave the Wadhwa family an heir. And now, after ruining Siya's life, by virtue of her nonsense, she is still not satisfied and wants to brush aside Neeti's broken heart. Kumkum, whether she admits or not, is responsible for the mess in her own children's lives and her daughter-in-laws'.
If Kumkum wanted, she could have let Dhruv get divorced from Antara while trying on her end to financially take care of all responsibilities towards Antara. Kumkum could also have seen that Antara is well taken care off emotionally. She could also have seen that Dhruv accepts that having his child in his life will mean that he will also have to deal with Antara patiently and nicely. Who says that staying married to Antara is the only solution to having his child in his life? She could have seen that the child is not separated from Antara by consulting a lawyer and making the "new, changed" Antara understand that divying up the time the child can spent in custody of one of his parents is taken cae of and that does not mean Antara will lose her child. She if Antara is as "new, changed" as the show's creatives would have the audience believe, Antara would herself have not been selfish and realized that her child's place is in a well-adjusted home, that is--the home of Siya and Dhruv. Because in real life, mothers who do not believe they will be able to give their children the home they deserve, put their child up for adoption. In Antara's case, she would only have to either make the choice of sharing her child with Dhruv or handing him the child completely knowing that he is in good hands. But no... Kumkum had to interfere.
