Before I begin anything, let me put up a statutory warning, I am here for a healthy discussion. You may agree with me or disagree but let's keep discussion healthy and do no bashing! 😊

Like Voltaire famously said " I disapprove of what you say, but will defend to the death your right to say it."

So that's done with my warning part!

When someone says truth is a luxury and justify a wrongdoing, it is in a way justifying all sorts of crime committed by poor people! I know the world is mean and injustice happen to almost everyone! Straightforward people easily get trapped and being shrewd and cunning makes ones way easier!
Yes! I do agree giving lectures on morality to people who can't afford to eat is not going to feed their hunger! Yes Yes Yes! I do agree getting decent job is not an easy task and everywhere you are demanded to pay heavy prices! All said I still believe 'Truth is never a luxury'!
I strongly believe one can never justify an wrong doing saying that it's because you are poor! 🤔

Now coming to the character of Ishana! First of all let me appreciate Vrushika Mehta as an actor, she has seriously grown on me as an actor especially after today's episode! And seeing that I felt Ishana should have been a better written character! 😕

Had Ishana been shown as a true blue con girl things would have been more interesting to see, at least a variety in TV! but for Ishana con girl is just a facade or mask beneath it is the stereotypical good girl! All what happened today I believe is a kind of damage control cvs has done to the character which just made look more damaged!

Somehow this mix created by cvs is not gelling properly and that's why I feel Ishana is a half baked character!

They both are great actors and yesterday's episode was acting wise a treat. It did sucked because of the writing. I strongly believe if Ishaana's story was kept as it first was, a con girl, her character would have been much more meatier. And becoz Vrushika is a good actress, I surely think she could have pulled being bad easily & yet make us love her. They ruined the character when they gave her a emotional back story. If she was just a con girl trying to con Omkara, I feel I would have dug her story more. And It would have been fun to see how her perspective changes as she falls in love. And to be honest, we do love Shivay or RK in Madhubala or all the bad guys we fangirled on. Another example would be Ranveer's character in Ladies Vs Ricky Bahl.He did not hav a back story yet we did shipped him & Anushka. I just feel they should have kept faith in her bad girl image instead of giving her a emotional touch. Some people are damaged, that makes them bad & they still can fall in love & make us love their story.

The writers insistence on making Ishana look right too in yesterday's confrontation is what spoilt the whole thing for me!
This is a girl who..

Conned two rich guys into buying a car and then rejoiced with her dad.
Deliberately planned to break up a couple so that she could enjoy the guys money.
Danced after engineering a breakup on false pretexts even though the guy was hurt and she supposedly knew he hates lies.
Keeps singing about paisa paisa all the time..not once did she look scared that the goons were after her.
Takes stuff just because she thinks she should..the watch in the Oberoi mansion is an example..

If all this were to show her as a person who is the way she is unapologetically then why bring emotions and a sob story to justify her when she was caught?

I can only think that they didn't think a love story would be accepted if she wasn't justified and made to give a lecture on morals to the guy and walk away head held high! IT didn't work for me exactly because of these reasons!

Hello!
As said, no two think alike. All perceptions are different. I think, that nobody is born criminal or a con. Situations and personal characteristics, call it genes or temperament, anything makes him or her a con or a criminal. And if a person becomes a con, it doesn't mean he is devoid of emotions. So many people are helpless...as in case of Ishana, situations made her what she is.
Absolutely not justifying it by saying she is poor! But I think, she has all rights to feel emotions, to cry and put forth the reasons why she betrayed him. She is not a stereotypical good girl. For if she would have been a perfect good girl, I think she wouldn't have shown herself helpless, and neither would have justified her wrongs in the name of poverty. She is just a person, who is selfish, a con, loves to have fun (I think) but at the same time, feels certain things for she has a heart!

My POV strictly!

Bang On!!!

Totally agree with you.

Exactly the same thing I was tired telling yesterday. "Truth" is never a luxury. It will be more relateable or interesting if she was all 'Con girl'
