Have you ever read the story of Solomon's Justice? Solomon was a great king in Egypt. He was famous for his justice.
One day, two women came to his court with a baby. Both claimed the baby was theirs and asked King Solomon to give his judgement on who the baby belongs to.
King Solomon ordered his men to cut the baby in two and give each half to each woman. One woman kept her mouth shut because she thought if she did not get the baby, the other will not either.
But the mother who truly loved her baby cried and asked the King to hand over the baby to the other woman. She'd rather have a happy and alive baby who calls mother someone else than a baby with no life.
The King realized who was the true mother and gave the baby to the woman who was willing to let go her baby for his happiness.
Now, in Dev's situation, Ishwari made sure that she is willing to play any games, stoop to any low as long as she gets Dev, unhappy and suffering or not.
But Sona? She let go of Dev and actually wishes for Dev to move on with the girl his mother chooses because then he can have a life partner and will get to keep his mother happy.
That is true love... It does not bind, it sets free. It does not make you weak, it makes you strong. It never loses, because even in defeat, it wins.
Now Dev does not want to be with Sona because of his mom, but does not want her to be happy either. Today what really made me angry is his line, As long as I love you, you can't move on. He certainly inherited the selfish gene from Ishwari. It's all about my son, my daughter, my mother, my happiness, my comfort, my will, my choice in that family and they cover up their selfishness by showing off and putting an act of care and respect.
Sona is better off without that family.
