Hi, am new to the show and thus forum. Saw the hillariously vamp trolling episode accidently on TV and watched the very beginning till mid April cause after marriage it got boring with Rajni trying to impress Sasuma and want to point out few things.
1. Rajni trying to impress Surili is something that will really never change in Indian soaps 😔 I mean c'mon she's a robot, a robot should be more logical than that drama, ok, agree, that's the main plot but at start, Surili sounded just to be the perfect woman who doesn't want a maid as a bahu and doesn't want her sons to take their wives granted but later on I noted, this was completely no more the case as Surili started treating Rajni like a servant

2. Writers could not cope up with a woman Surili in the first two to three episodes, a woman who was against women working like servants at their in-laws and men taking their wives for granted. Watching episodes in a row showed me how that portrayal of her changed drastically. I believe Indian soap wroters can't cope up with such a saas/bahu or woman at all
Surili asking Rajni to apologize to those women at muh dikhai by getting onto their feet was completely not that behaviour of a logical modern woman, cause she would not degrade another woman and surely not if she wasn't at fault at all

3. The idea of housewife. Rajni being the perfect housewife, ok, as she says it is something to be proud of, but I was disappointed that there was nothing remarked on how housewives are taken for granted by their in-laws, husbands and even their own children. And anyway, this whole dea of men getting home food cooked by a bahu of the house is something that prevents Indian women from going out and working. Even in today's date, there are so many housewives with degrees in their cupboards which are never used, cause they have to become a house wife take care if their in-laws breakfast, lunch, dinner and cleaning of the house etc

4. Idea of a bahu as the main cook for the men of the house. How many times have there been a remark at start that even though there are two bahus at home, the men of the house can't even get a tea in the morning. Instead there should have been a teaching that there's nothing wrong for a man making his own tea in the morning, cause that's the least he can do. Every adult, regardless of their gender should know how to take care of themselves and their needs. That is something which is nowhere promoted on Indian TV. Always women have to take care of men and are called good bahus and wives then only when they can cook and do their laundry

5. Women fighting against another woman...do I need to say anything? Surili, Shoguta, Maggie, Sharmila...against Rajni

6. Rajni is a robot, but many times writers make her behave like a human being, a typical bahu human being, like repeating moral catchphrases (said by Amrish) to say at some situations. A robot doesn't do that.

7. Rajni praised by Amrish for always following Shaan's command (not knowing she's a robot). Even though his character is very lovely and he is supportive of Rajni, he has a thinking of a typical Indian man. A wife should always listen to her husband and cook for her in-laws and be a good bahu of that kind...yes, we are living in 2016!

8. Often, Rajni is portrayed very cute and robotic by the actress. The way she turns her head right and left looking at nowhere and the way she blinks and stands, you really can see she is doing a good work šŸ‘

9. Dev and Aishwarya, love the two, really. Too hillarious, have watched the show more for them than anything else. The expressions and comedy lines are just too good. šŸ˜†

I want to watch fun filled episodes with hillarious track. So please recommend some with approx. date of when it was aired. If possible, with lots of Dev and Aishwarya present in the track 😃

Welcome to the show and welcome to the forum!

You've brought up several very good points in this post, a few of which I feel the need to elaborate on because a simple, "I agree!" won't be enough!

This show started off as an incredibly refreshing one, with a curious premise - that of the relationship between a man and his machine - and a great ensemble cast of characters in the form of the dysfunctional Kant family, Dev, and Aishwarya. I loved the first two/three weeks of the show for the way the team handled character introductions, key themes, and questions about what it means to be human. The characters had flaws, but they were believable and not caricatures. Up until around the 100th episode, the overall story was progressing steadily and the "dramedy" tone was maintained rather well. The interactions between characters kept moving the story forward and provided insight into their personalities, too. Since the end of the honeymoon phase, I've felt like the show has become disjointed...it's getting a little better now and there are moments that serve as a saving grace, but the overall cohesiveness is still missing. And yes, I'm really missing the serious insights that came with the dramedy tone of the show!

Your point about the saas-bahu melodrama and Surili's personality is spot-on! I loved Surili in the first few weeks of the show! She was a caring mother more than anything else at that point. Sure, she had her quirks like everyone does, but her prejudices weren't overwhelming to the point where she became obnoxious. I do remember being put off by her partiality towards Sharmila then, but over the course of these 130+ episodes, Surili's attitude towards all of her bahus has gotten so much worse. I was hoping to see development in her attitude come about gradually, but it just doesn't seem to be happening. Pallaviji is a fantastic actress with superb comic timing and I love how she channels the Bengali aspect of her character...but as adorable as Pallaviji can be, I just don't trust Surili Kant. I really wish I could, but I can't bring myself to do that yet.

Since Amrish and Ghyaan/Dhyaan have been most supportive of Rajni so far, it's been easy to gloss over the fact that they really are hopeless when it comes to taking care of themselves. Now that you've pointed that out, it takes me back to my original expectations from this show...I'd thought that the men would be shown as capable individuals who could look after themselves while their wives were off doing actual work. But it seems like the men cannot function without their wives or Rajni or Aishwarya providing the usual domestic services on a daily basis. Actually, Aishwarya used to bear the brunt of things and it was quite hilarious to see how the house fell apart in her absence. I thought the entire household would take that as a warning to start becoming self-sufficient slowly. But nope, now all the work is squarely on Rajni's shoulders. And she does it all, because she is a robot and that's what she was made for. To help around the house. I am still hoping that a balance can be achieved here...the message of the show, as far as I could tell, was supposed to be that housewives should be respected as much as working women because managing a household is no easy feat. I would love to see all of the women working as part of Surili's sari business (well, I suspect Shogata has her own fashion line anyways) and sharing household duties with their husbands. The men need to change with the times as much as the women do. I think that's the only way a true balance can be found.

Maggie and Sharmila are both rather useless and I keep wishing that they could play more significant roles in the show with their own personal storylines regarding their husbands. Sharmila has been whining almost constantly for as long as I can remember, and I really don't understand how on earth Dhyaan could have ever gotten married to her since they seem so incompatible! Maggie has been shown as dim-witted but I feel like she has a good heart in her, and she's more understanding towards the people in her family.

Shogata...she is a fascinating one and I could talk about her for a very, very long time, to be honest. When she entered the show, I remember being very impressed with Neha's acting abilities. Even though Shogu's character seemed like the typical scheming sister at the time, I felt like there was something more to her that I couldn't quite put my finger on...She had more dimensions to her than I'd expected and I really grew to love her character very quickly. The turning point in my perception of her was when she found out about her marriage to Dev. I had always been intrigued by the relationship between Dev and Shogata, and the episodes following their marriage have added depth to both characters and the odd bond that they share. It's interesting. They're barely shown in episodes but in spite of that, their relationship has a flow to it. Their characters are the most consistent ones in the show, with gradual growth happening along the way, too. There is so much potential in seeing how Dev-Shogata's relationship impacts all of the family members as well as Shaan's secret since Matthew is also involved. Neha and Neel have such a wonderful chemistry along with a strong grasp on their characters - I sincerely hope they'll get more focus as they actually have a cohesive storyline that is progressing with subtlety.

Ridhima is absolutely brilliant as Rajni! She was the reason I started watching this show after coming across it purely by chance! I love some phases more than others, but there's no denying that Ridhima is one hell of a talented actress! She makes Rajni believable, walking that fine line between human expressiveness and mechanical lifelessness. So, so impressive. I liked the way the writers were handling questions about Rajni's capacity to feel and develop a morality code of her own...up until the 100th episode, that is.

I've written BHRK episode reviews from Episode 56 onward, as well as a few separate reviews...I've got some catching up to do, but feel free to take a look at them if you'd like! Thanks for making this post! It's been a while since I've written so much on this forum, and it feels great to be back!

P.S. Dev and Aishwarya are super fabulous! Aishwarya keeps popping up randomly every so often, so it's not like she's constantly interacting with Dev...but I enjoyed the scenes she had with Dev/Shogu in the immediate aftermath of the accidental wedding! I can't remember the exact episode numbers off the top of my head, but Episodes 91 and 93 definitely have some Dev/Aishwarya banter with hilarious one-liners. I love Dev, so I'll just recommend Episodes 75-95, somewhere in there!

Can't agree more šŸ‘

Really good said, Ridhika is really good at her acting out a robot. Not every actress could have been able to do that job so perfect.

Also, what I forgot are Mathew's scenes with Dev 🤣🤣🤣 too hiallrious, the way he checks him out and God, I love Dev's character. Really good comic scenes

Am watching it from mid April onwards for Dev and Rajni

Hi...Welcome to the show and the forum.

This has been a really wonderful show until the track where Shaan meets Samaira. The show started going downhill from that point.Firstly Shaan's characterization has been destroyed. Then,Rajni's changed into a vamp and stopped listening to Shaan's commands. And the said track has been stretched for too long.
About Rajni it can be shown that her system was affected by virus. But how will Shaan's character be redeemed?

The jail track has ended and the family has returned back home in Episode 133.
I don't understand Shaan's behavior and attitude towards Rajni now.The comment he passed to Rajni was rude.

For the first time in the show I show Shaan being calm and sharing some nice moments with Dev even if it was for a few minutes.Usually he keeps blaming him, beating and pushing him around.

I am not at Samaira track yet but did watch the vamp track and I loved it, cause in someway they were trolling vamps actually. And I loved that.

Also love Dev about everything and hoping to see Mathew lots more with him checking his Robo Dev 🤣
