As we all know that Abhishek mother is always upstairs and she has to watch how do they enjoy or have lunch or maybe fight.

Why cant they shift her to the ground floor?

I sympathise with her that she cant participate with her family.

where she can sit with everyone, have food, enjoy somebody's birthday...

What do you think?

Even I thought about this but I think if she's downstairs she wouldn't be able to rest which she has to and the house is already a bit conjusted for Pant family...

I thought the same thing as well! It would be nice if her room were downstairs.
@Amulya raises a good point, but I'm wondering if that's the reason behind having Babli ji spend all her time on the 2nd floor. It could be because the writers wanted to pull our emotional strings by bringing in the aspect of her feeling so useless - in terms of not being able to support Abhi and also not being able to do her part in the house as she is the eldest bhabhi

I'm guessing her room had been on the 2nd floor from the beginning and eventually when her chronic obesity took over (that is what i think it is anyway) she was unable to move around much.. So it's not much as though she kept her upstairs but more about she had always stayed there and couldn't come down now...

Ofcourse, they could have shifted her once and be done with it, lol..but yeah, like someone above said, it adds to the feeling of helplessness that they want to portray via her...
