I'm new to this forum but I follow the threads here

I wanted to comment after reading the latest spoiler...or really the build up to the spoiler.

I applaud the CVs to have the courage to take this path...and break an unwritten stereotype , especially in Indian telly: about mother's unconditional pyaar.

While it's true, but sometimes as exceptions prove the rule, it is indeed true that mothers become insecure about their son's girlfriend/bahu if they are very close to their son from the beginning. They get insecure about losing the 'position' in their son's priorities. While, it's hard to watch on a fiction, but it's got a lot of real life relevance.

Ishwari has been shown to be pretty resistant to any suggestion to the prospect of getting Dev married, from beginning...and to see Dev 'changing' (from her perspective) to Sona's choices just made her feel she's losing control on her son like she used to before without realizing that the changes in him are pretty minor and she still is the woman who rules his world when it comes to things that truly matter.

the way they have slowly peeled Ishwari's perfect mother image layer after layer to reveal the woman who's so insecure that she'd do anything to remain the top priority in her son's life...just has been amazing.

it's a touchy subject...but truly Kuch Rang pyaar ke aise bhi...where the love makes you forget to respect the choices of your loved ones and not let them evolve as an individual to have a life of their own.

hope I did not offend anyone.

Lovely post and I totally agree with you! A mother's love is the first kind known to man and for a mother it's the hardest thing to let their child go especially when it comes to sons and a son like Dev who has devoted his life to his mother.

It's not that she is a vamp and typical saas...she likes Sona but the issue her importance in Dev's life. Many mothers do go through this but most are able to get past their insecurities because they build their dreams around their child's marriage. They follow the rules of society of what you expect to happen. You kids study, work then get married and then have kids. Most are too excited at the thought of having grandkids!

This is not love, but dangerous sick obsession which leads to taking revenge from the one you say you love.
