Tarini vidhwa ashram, a place where a piece of white lived,in d city of varanasi.it was a family of women of different ages, all sharing d same fate, widowhood. They never needed a man to protect them, clearly evident a woman can live a life with her head held high without the help of colors that connects her with her husband.

Inauspicious they were, but d truth is, God received the garlands as offering which had d touch of a widow, her hard work, her sleepless nights, someone who is not welcomed in temples, but in d form of offering their devotion always touched the God of humanity and justice.

The color of life is white, color of divine power is white...here lived our dhani, dulari,Indrani, sita, Rajlakshmi, suwarna and many others.we have seen different shades of womanhood there, women who accepts their fate and embrace a bland life, women who had sparks inside them to fights back against unfair norms of d society, women who r free spirited, women who can change their weakness into their strength when time requires...

Their bland safed life took a spicy colorful turn when Viplab The revolution invaded their ashram. He painted d whole ashram with colors, also in true meaning..It is not that d change is always welcomed, but one gets used to it.This is what happened to them, a break in rules initiated by viplab and it was amazing to find how all of them enjoyed breaking rules of a boring widow life.

Lets share our experience with our safed gang in tarini ashram...Happy birthday IKRS,Happy birthday Tarini Ashram.
It is my tribute to d storyline which dragged me into this forum.if u guys can come up with more n more ideas to celebrate one yr anniversary of our show then u should share those with all of us.

taz.. Thank you for this fantastic piece of memorabilia of all that attracted me to this programme as well.. you have captured the essence of the programme as it began. The piece of writing rekindled the sentiments and the empathy I felt for the widows of the ashram as we called it.. what a lifestyle they had..contained, fairly disciplined.yes, you rightly mention they were widows but each had a defined character. Where they all supported each other.. But above all I shall remember the quiet grace and dignity with which they conducted themselves and believed in making a honest living in a very tough social structure.. and yes the resistance some of them put up against change.. In hindsight , I have noticed a change in dhani ..in some ways she is a toughnut even today. I suspect her hardy training has to be given credit for making it alone momentarily as a single parent.. I recall those moments in the ashram where love bloomed between her and viplav.. now presently , I wait for a meltdown from her side so that their love that bloomed in the ashram .. continues to flourish in years to come. Thanks taz for your great effort in making a celebration of Ishq 's one year old anniversary .. August 10th 2015~ 2016! ...

The original Safed Gang, that first stirred emotions in us all and attracted us to this show that had us hooked with it's bold idea of how NOT to treat widows.

Women in White with a strong bond to survive in a city that treated them like dirt but still persevered to live amongst them making garlands for Gods that tested them all
young and old to live a colourless life through no fault of theirs.

They all proved beyond a doubt that they were strong and self reliant and were thrilled to see a young man named Viplav that entered their lives and with his acceptance of them all put a smile on their faces and a spring in their steps to go out into the cruel world and stand with their heads held high and not be afraid to add colour into their World of White...

Those were indeed the good old days of Tarini Ashram...
