Veer's 2nd Wife

i don't understand veer's 2nd wife, shikha's mother. in earlier episodes she said she doesn't want her daughter to have life like her life but she still find a husband for her who is just like veer......abhi too is very fond with his job and takes it seriously......did she forget that. And in yesterday's episode she said shikha come just for the award function.....but when she got to know about abhi's dead....she said shikha is coming....so how come suddenly it purpose changed? guess mrs veer is becoming forgetful.
