Star Plus and Director's Kut's popular show, Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain will now see an exciting new twist with a new entry...

And that will be of the popular actor, Rafi Malik who was last seen in the production house's Star Plus show, Tere Sheher Main.

Rafi's character will be the new guy in Gayu's (Kanchi Singh) life, is what we hear!!

Yes, you heard it right!! The channel and makers have decided to spice up the triangle love story of Naira (Shivangi Joshi), Karthik (Mohsin Khan) and Gayu by bringing in a new angle..

As per sources, "Rafi will play an army officer who would be the childhood friend of Gayu. The best of friends will meet up again, which will end in the guy falling for Gayu. Soon, both the families will start to talk of their marriage."

Will this be a turning point for Gayu? Will she end up proposing Karthik?
