This was the first scene of Swaragini I had actually watched, after hearing from my mom n sister (serial soap addicts) that the Traditional good girl Ragini pushed her Modern outspoken sister into the river to marry the man she loves. In Hindi soaps, it is usually the other way round. So my curiosity was peaked.
I was intrigued and actually SAW an episode of Swaragini. And after watching the Hospital Lift scene, I was 10000% sure that future mein SwaSan will turn into Lovers. I just loved the hospital scene and became a SwaSan fan from that very instant. And since then, I have been making it a point to catch all the SwaSan scenes as I love these two from the core of my heart. For me, SwaSan are the Heart and Soul of Swaragini.
While fans claim the Hospital Lift or Sanskaar wiping kheer from Swara's lips as the it moment, for me the most defining SwaSan moment is when Sanskaar standing near his window and says "Main tumhe nahi chodunga Swara" and Swara turns back and asks Ragini if she said something. A shocked Sanskaar hides behind the curtain. This scene highlighted SwaSan's cosmic connection and the fact that they are meant to be. It laid the groundwork on which SwaSan, all by themselves, overcoming many hurdles from various quarters, circumstances and detractors, and repeated attempts to separate them, became ONE.
For me, this scene is the starting point of SwaSan and their beautiful relationship. Sanskaar's words to Swara, though spoken in anger/hatred were extremely symbolic. And since that day, Sanskaar has never let go of his Swara. Sanskaar has held Swara as an enemy, a repentant man, a protector, a friend, an accomplice, a reluctant husband, as Best friend, a Lover and a dotting husband.
