Hello CIDians,

For quite some time, I've been seeing people using our siggies on facebook pages. To add to it, the siggies are cropped and only a part of it is being posted in the pages and groups. Few of the siggy makers whose siggies I've noticed, have been cropped and used are, debasree, myself etc.

Regarding the originality I do not know if they give the makers the due credit, but they crop it in such a way that the copyright is cut off.

How can we curb this?

I have seen my own siggies used by FB CID groups for various actors.I don't think theres a solution.Most of them use it very shamelessly claiming to be theres.Its sad but true

Most of them get it by googling keywords of our siggies.
Maybe we should have used copy codes to block them from receiving the siggies on google search

i have also seen so many siggies of mine on FB cropped and edited😆

though i hate it, but can't do anything about it..

may be u can prevent it to some extent using members only tag for this🤔

if we use copy code, then none can use that on IF also

Not only on FB but I've seen this on Twitter and Instagram also ,some ppl crop my siggies and use it as their profile pic.They even crop a portion of our siggies and use them in their own edits..😡

Really, there's nothing that can be done. No matter what you do, you can use the simple print screen button from Windows and copy ANYTHING.

Legally, you can file a case and may even win, but the amount of effort and money that goes into it is too much, so you can just get angry at their indecency. That's all.

Will adding a copyright in a way that however you try to crop it , part of it will be visible, help? But that will involve covering the entire siggy with our copyright 🤔
