Hola,🤗 it's me Mayu. I am a very old member of IF and was very active in DMG, GHSP and MEIEJ forums. But its my very first OS in this forum. So please bear any mistakes.
This OS is based after Ruhi starts realising her mistakes and feeling guilty about how she treated her mother. Ruhi and Ishita have settled and are on good talking terms, but they haven't have had the heart to heart talk which will truly heal Ruhi.
It's late in the night when Ruhi was thirsty, and with no water in the room she decides to head to the kitchen. After filling a glass of water, she was about to leave when she accidently drops the lighter on the floor. She picks it up and it reminds her of the morning when she had accidently dropped something and her Ishimaa had picked it up. They both had banged their heads and Ishimaa had eased her pain away by rubbing the sore area on her temple. She had even offered to help her with her hair, but she had refused.
She could understand that no matter what happens, her Ishimaa will always love her, adore her and cherish her. Ruhi's heart had accepted her Ishimaa long back. But her mind was making her go back to that terrible day when she was allegedly exchanged. It was a battle between her mind and her heart; she was silently praying that her heart wins!
While walking back to the room, she heard Mani uncle talking to her Ishimaa about leaving to Australia forever. And with the door ajar open she could see, Ishimaa's packed bag. As Ishita was about to get up and leave, Ruhi barged in the room to confront her mother, have that much needed conversation. She had no intention of doing it now, but her heart took over and she started to speak:
Ruhi: "Aap jaa rahe ho?"
Ishita stammered while answering: "Haan, yahi theek hai sab ke liye."
Ruhi: "To phir mera kya hoga?" she whispered before crashing to the floor unable to digest.
Ruhi, panicked Ishita as she sat on the floor near Ruhi and engulfed her in a hug, Ruhi was a stiff at first but later, she relaxed in her mother's arms. It was much needed, she was sobbing. Ishita didn't stop her, it was better her daughter wash away that pain, the angst and the differences they had to face. As the mother daughter let out their tears, Ruhi finally spoke again,
Ruhi: "Aap kyun jaa rahe ho? Mujhe aapki zaroorat hai. I need you Ishimaa, badly need you."
Ishita: "Nai jaaoongi. Is baar main galti nahi karoongi. Mujhe bhi tumhaari zaroorat hai."
Ruhi: "Jab mujhe Nidhi ne bataya ki aapne mere saath chod diya to maine yakeen nai kiya. Mujhe pata tha ki aap aayengi, chahe kuch bhi ho jaye."
Ishita was lovingly looking at her daughter, she didn't feel to stop her pain from coming out. She let her speak, acknowledging the fact, she is understanding Ruhi's pain.
Ruhi: "Par jab bahut dinon baad bhi nayi aayi, main toot chuki thi. Nidhi mujhe roz maarti thi, par main seh leti thi. Is hope main ki aap mujhe bachane aayegi. Aap nai aayi. Mera pyaar aapke liye gusse main badal gaya. Maine soch liya, ki mere liye shayad aap mar gayi. Lekin, mujhe birthday par yakeen hota tha, ki chahe main aapse nafrat karoon is pal ke liye, lekin aapse main utna hi pyar karti thi."
On learning that Nidhi used to beat up her young child, Ishita's blood went from ice cold to boiling. She was seething in anger, but her priority was to comfort Ru.
Ruhi: "Aur har birthday par main ek hi wish maangti thi god se, ki meri Ishimaa lauta do. Every year same wish Ishimaa, but was never fulfilled. Aur is saal jab wo wish poori hui, main chahti thi aapko gale lagana, par mere man ne rok diya. Mera gussa mujhpe haavi ho gaya. Maine aapki bahut insult ki, bahut taane sunaye. Bahut takleef di." She said while sobbing and hugging her Ishimaa more tightly. She felt safe in her arms, after years did she feel so safe and at peace. She felt loved and wanted. She had a traumatic childhood, courtesy Nidhi.
Ishita: "Koi baat nai Ru. Ab to wapis aa gayi ho na, apni Ishimaa ke paas wapas, sab theek hoga." She said while looking at Ru feeling comforted by her words. Before Ishita could speak again, Ruhi forwarded her palm, and asked for a promise and looked in her mother's eyes,
Ruhi: "Pakka nai jaaoge na aap?"
All Ishita did was hug Ruhi back and there was no need for any communication.
That very same night, Ruhi slept in her mother's lap, like the childhood times, feeling the love, warmth and the affection of a mother's love. Destiny was cruel with Ru, first it was Shagun and later Nidhi, but not much, she sent her Ishimaa. It was all over for Ruhi. The bad days, the cruelty, the suffering was all over, she was happy, content and at peace.
As Ruhi was sleeping in Ishita's lap, she was caressing her hair and she made a promise, no matter what happens, she will not leave her kids. She made a promise to herself and to her kids, as long as she had her children, she was the happiest woman alive!
She whispered a good night to Ruhi and herself, while she slept at peace herself.
Hope I loved up to the expectations of the fans!
Please do comment and do you want an epilogue?

Mayu
