Hello to all the members on the BBKD forum :)
I'm Hinal, and to be honest, I'm surprised I'm on here 😆

To start off, I personally found myself irritated after watching the initial promo thinking it'd be one of those silly shows where characters are there just for comic timing and nothing else. But I am happy to be proven wrong. From the first episode to the sixth (which by the way I binge-watched just now), I am enjoying pretty much every aspect of the show!

From the family squabbles in the Pant household to the tense dynamics of the (Raizada is it?) household for their daughter's future, it has been shown with a very real viewpoint.
Especially the Pant family! I have seen my share of familial drama myself, and needless to say, characters are - more often than not - in grey shades rather than the stereotypical and rigid positive or negative shade. Each character has their flaws, but they are still bound together in the end because they are a family. A dysfunctional family, perhaps, but even then, they are held together by a thread which seems to be strung by a few members in that family, namely Abhishek.

Being completely honest, Meera's "I just want to be happy" dialogue in the promo irked me. [I know, you might be thinking I get very easily irritated 😆 But the truth is, I've seen too many insanely idiotic and utterly stupid shows. I tend to judge Indian soaps very rigidly at first because I'd rather not put myself through that torture again 😛]
But the point is, my initial thought was that she was mindlessly wasting her life away just wanting to be happy. That was a very naive but irrational character portrayed in my eyes. But in the episodes so far, her character has managed to shape up as a naive but matured person. She isn't lazy, but she just doesn't know what it is she wants to do with life. As a soon-to-be-graduate, I'm exactly in her position and so after watching their family conversation, I find myself relating to her logic!

Now before I get carried away and write my own novel, I'm going to end the post right here 😆
So far, the 6 episodes have been a treat to watch, leaving me eager to watch many more!

Here's to the show BBKD :) A great beginning with a lot of potential!

Don't forget to leave your views/thoughts etc.
It'd be nice to get the forum active 😉

Lot's of love,
Hinal 😳

Hi
Even I was irritated when she said "I want to be happy" in promo but the now she makes complete sense to me
I am in love with her character...fresh aspect of female lead, completely different from typical serial heroine
And for Pant family, they are somewhat like my family...too realistic

Agreed with all the points you have stated.

When I saw the promo (Meera's dialogues) I didn't like her. I thought her to be a slacker (who would later be turned into some mature bahu, as most Indian soaps can't do without an "adarsh" bahu).
Also the promos reminded me of an earlier show called Sasural Genda Phool where a young girl tries to adjust with a huge joint family ensuing comedy and drama. I thought this was going to be on the same lines.

BUT I was so surprised when I started watching. Meera's character won me over. She states things so simply yet have deep meaning. I also liked both the families portrayal. Very realistic grey-shaded, multi layered character - not your typical black and white characters.

This show feels light-hearted and yet, at times, so natural and realistic. I love the way they have combined the elements of comedy and drama so smoothly.

Glad I wasn't the only one! 😆
And right? It's a good balance they have found in her character!

Apart from the Pant family's size, I relate to it otherwise as well. Especially the arguments and quick patch-ups because let's be honest, fights happen. But we don't dwell on them for months because that's not how it works. We fight, we make up, we get over it all. Glad the show is really highlighting that!!

Oh yes, I remember that show! I see the similarities now that you've mentioned it. But yea, you're right. Meera is a much more sorted character, a reason why I've grown to like her in just 6 episodes (which is a big thing considering I had a preconceived notion which made me dislike her just from watching the promo).

I like being right, but I'm really glad I was proven wrong with my expectations from this show! Even my mom, who tends to really hate soaps, wants to watch this show. Pretty excited to be able to watch a show without my mom judging me 😆

AMEN!! 😆 The only person I'd make plans to get even with is when my brother has angered me beyond limits. And even then, the plan is to hide his phone or something silly like that 🤣

We are sooo alike 🤣
You know one time, I wanted to replace the sugar with salt when my brother makes his coffee. But I kept thinking about it and never actually did it. 😛

Not helping them when they need it is an even better revenge! "Remember you did so-and-so, so no, I won't let you watch what you want" 🤣
My mother can attest to how often this statement was used xD
