I think most of the people in this forum are disappointed for not being able to understand Ishwari.
I find it rather ok. It's mothers heart we are trying to understand. She is as real as we can think of. In real life, that how it happens even to the most loving and sensible mothers. Everyone just tries to compete and thats what ishwari is trying to do. She's giving very lame reasons because she is not trying to understand from the other POV. When the matter came of his son, i think every other girl is just the same...to her...

Competing with DIL is ok and it happens in 80-90% families.
But not letting anyone near son and getting irked by even talks of sons marriage!!!! That is not normal...
We have seen secveral instances where ishwari did not entertain any marriage talks for dev and some instances even manipulated dev just so that he doesnt fall for saloni .

Appreciate your view point.

However, in my view she is not anywhere close to reality. She is discriminatory, even among here own children. Forget about respecting or understanding anyone else's child. I think Asha Sona's mother is closer to reality. this is my POV.

Completely agree with you. I have seen mothers who are extremely possessive when it comes to their son. That doesn'tmean that she is a selfish lady but the fact is what ever she had been thru or how she had taken care of her children or survived in a city like Delhi isn't an easy task, so she has now become more possessive about her son as she don't want to share her son , his love with anyone.

I too think so but asha is a very positive and straight character unlike ishwari. As far as I can recollect she wants her son to be happy but not with some other girl, he is a saturated person and has achieved everything thing except for an emotional satisfaction which only love can provide and open a whole new domain to explore. He needs love, not a motherly one which he has but the love which I he doesn't has. Ishwari is not looking from this pov. She thinks that my son whom I have raised with so much affection and love for all these years who has listened to me forever, now listens to someone else and values someone else's opinion so much so that he listened to her but not her mother. I think that is something ishwari is getting insecure of.

Some day she'll realize and regret a lot.. As of now she wants her own happiness and not his sons its just momentary...
