@Maya - Thanks for coming up with the analysis for Raman.
I agree with everything you said about Raman. In my opinion, I definitely feel that he has his own insecurities with respect to Mani and he is possessive about Ishita. I may be wrong, I saw his insecurities during the hospital scene when Ishita was admitted, where Mani seemed to know more about Ishita and he was guilty that he could not be a good husband. He was even trying other means to prove that he is a good husband. He knew Mani is a great friend to Ishita, but at the same time, he is insecure of Mani, because to me it looked like he always wanted to be THE person who knows and does everything about her for her. He did not want anyone to take away that position in Ishita's life. Now when he decided to go to Singapore, he obviously wanted Ishita to happily settle and lead a peaceful life and he believed Mani would be the person undoubtedly. Even before he left for Singapore, he had a talk with Ishita, where he tells her to take the help of Mani and be in his company, as he felt that both would make a good pair. So I have always felt that he always had this insecure thought of he not being suited for Ishita and Mani being the man for Ishita. I may be wrong, but it is just my perspective of equations between Mani-Raman-Ishita. I don't say Raman does not trust Ishita or Mani, but for me Raman has this insecurity of Mani being better than him for Ishita. I may not make sense to many, but this is how I feel.Post leap Raman none of us could understand because of his crass words. I guess almost all had the same opinion be it his choice of words at the hospital, be it the impulsive decision for shaadi with shagun. No one denied the fact that Raman has to apologise, own up to his mistakes and clear up the mess. When Ishita was given enough screen space to express her feelings, pain, it is unfortunate that Raman was made to look dumb. But even when we had small glimpses of Raman repenting or a POV put forth by expression or actions,,which we rejoiced, which is again purely a personal interpretation, I did not understand people's attitude to mock those. Again, when we seem to have some redemption for him over the past week, even then it is not considered enough with some new set of complaints on him happily letting Shagun slap him or taking her around everywhere or sitting and leaving it to god because Shagun said so and so on. Anyways, I will leave it right there. No use talking about things that are not going to change. And sorry you misunderstood me. my intention was not to make you comment about my points about other's behaviour nor to agree with my thoughts, nor empathise with me. I was just explaining my view point and the situations that lead to this Raman Vs Ishita war, at the drop of a hat in almost every thread that is opened.Anyways, thanks Maya. Glad to have had a conversation with you. I was able to read a wonderful interpretation of Raman and Ishita, two of the three important characters who are the souls of YHM. Thanks again. Have a great day.
