Detailed Story
Jatayu is writhing in pain because Ravan had cut his wing. Ram and Laxman come to him.
Jatayu – My eyes were waiting for you. I am Jatayu. He is very cruel. He was taking away mother Sita towards South. I tried a lot but I could not defeat him. Only you can finish him. My end time has come. I was alive so that I could tell you about him.
Laxman – Jatayu, what you did is praiseworthy. You will be admired for ages.
Ram – You are great, Jatayu. The end of whoever kidnapped Sita is certain.
Jatayu – Give me liberation, Sri Ram.
Jatayu touches Ram's feet and dies.
Ravan brings Sita to Ashok Vatika (a garden). He orders female demons there to make arrangements for Sita's stay and provide her whatever objects she wanted.
Sita – I do not want anything given by you. My happiness is in Raghu's descendant Sri Ram.
Ravan laughs – Sri Ram. What is there in him? He is a beggar wandering in forests. Forget him. Whole of Lanka's wealth is yours. So many servants are ready to carry out your orders.
Sita – Shame on you that you are prajapati's descendant and you still talk like this. (Ravan's grandfather Pulastya is a prajapati.) Your thoughts are improper.
Ravan – You find my talks improper. What about what your husband and his brother did with my sister? Was that proper? Was that honorable?
(Ask your sister to tell the truth of what happened.)
Sita – Only Raghuvanshi (Ram) will decide about honor and insult. He will kill you. Count your remaining days.
Ravan – Ravan is not counting his remaining days. But he is waiting for your husband and his brother. They will get grand welcome in Lanka (he says sarcastically). You decide whether you want Ram or Lankesh; wealth or poverty; riches or roaming in forests. Ravan gives you enough time to decide.
(Your are keeping her here forcibly. And you say that you are giving her time to decide.)
Ravan leaves. Now there are only Sita and some female demons. The head of those demons Trijata asks other demons to leave. When they leave, then Trijata consoles Sita.
Trijata – Don't worry, Sita. I am always with you.
Ravan's wives Mandodari and Chitrangada criticize Ravan.
Chitrangada – If somebody did that to you, would you forgive him? Could you tolerate if somebody misbehaved with your wife?
Mandodari – Is this your moral and your manliness that you kidnap somebody else's wife and force her to be your life partner?
Chitrangada – Did the king of Lanka not trust his weapons that he had to do this lowly work?
Mandodari – It is shameful for the Lankesh, the conqueror of the three worlds.
Ravan – Enough. I feel hurt that you two did not understand Lankesh Ravan. My sister was insulted, my brothers were killed. So many things happened. Still I am at fault in your eyes? I made a political move. I kidnapped Sita to hurt those forest dwellers and you two are shocked?
Mandodari – Is this not true that you want to marry Sita?
Ravan – If I had to marry her, then why did I keep her in Ashok Vatia? I could have brought her to palace. Who could stop me? I spread this rumor of my marriage with Sita to hurt those forest dwellers. Poison can be answered only with poison and not nectar. It is my policy to become fire to fire and water to water. If my queens do not understand this, then please stop giving your advices. Lankesh Ravan is not used to listen to these cowardly advices. (Oh great! What about kidnapping Sita and Ram and Laxman were not around? Wasn't that cowardly?)
Vibhishan wants to tell Ravan that what Ravan did was not correct. But Ravan gets angry.
Ravan – Vibhishan, do not make me angry with your little knowledge. I gave whole of my life to raksh culture. The ground on which you are standing is also because of my raksh culture.
Vibhishan – But I find it improper to kidnap somebody else's wife. This is unworthy of us.
Ravan – And what about your sister's insult? Somebody molests her honor, cuts her nose – is it worthy? What kind of man you are that you want to justify those things? How did you come to your brother to argue?
Vibhishan (with folded hands) – Forgive me, brother. But perhaps you do not know well those people whom you consider as your enemies.
Ravan – Do not try to teach me who those forest dwellers are. But try to understand who Lankesh Ravan is.
A demon gets hit in mouth with an arrow. The arrow was shot by either Ram or Laxman but it was not shown who exactly. The arrow pierces that demon's mouth.
Ram and Laxman come running to him.
Laxman – I told you not to come in our path.
(So much of jump is not good. It should have been shown what that demon did.)
Laxman puts one more arrow on his bow to kill the demon but Ram stops him.
(It seems Laxman hit the demon in mouth).
Ram – Take out the arrow from his mouth. He wants to say something.
Laxman takes out the arrow from the demon's mouth.
Demon – I am Danu. After getting hit by Indra's vajra (a weapon), I made this forest as my residence. I have seen that you two are very brave. Please introduce yourselves.
Ram – We are princes of Ayodhya.
Demon – This means Ram and Laxman. Accept my regards, Ram. My desire of dying at your feet is fulfilled. As my last desire, let me have the chance to serve you. Order me, Ram. What can I do for you?
Ram – Some wicked person kidnapped my wife. Can you tell me where he is?
Demon – I am sorry but I do not know anything about this. But I have one suggestion for you. You should make somebody brave and capable as your friend. See that Rishyamukh hill. You will find Sugriv there. Make him your friend. He will help you. He also needs your help.
The demon dies. Ram and Laxman move towards Rishyamukh hill. Some assistants of Sugriv mistake them to have been sent by Vali (Sugriv's elder brother). They report the matter to Sugriv.
Assistants – King, please do not stay here. Your life is in danger. Your elder brother has sent two warriors. They are coming here.
(Last time when Vali and Sugriv were shown, then there was no enmity between them. The reason for enmity has not been shown. May be Sugriv will explain this to Ram. If that happens, then good.)
Sugriv – We must leave this place.
Hanuman – Wait, O king. How long will you keep running away? So long I am here, they cannot come here. Let me see who they are.
Sugriv – Hanuman, do not go alone.
Hanuman – Do not worry. I have my gada (club).
Hanuman comes down the hill. He sees Ram and Laxman. The chanting
"Raam Jai Jai Raam
Raam Raameti Raameti Rame Raame Manorame
Sahastra Naam Samtulyam Raam Naam Varaanane
Raam Jai Jai Raam"
plays.
Hanuman is thrilled and he bows to Ram.
Today's episode was good though it should have been shown what was the fault of that demon who was hit in the mouth? A far more important thing was missing – why Vali and Sugriv became enemies. But as of now, I do not blame the makers. May be it will be made clear in a later episode. If that happens, then it is good.
Does anybody know the name of the actress, who is playing the role of Sita? She is very good for performing this role. She is good looking. She does not have glamour, which is expected in the heroines of modern day movies. But this is good. When she has to do the role of a mythological character, then it is good that she does not have that kind of glamour.
