Hey Rithu, i m first, Wonderful update Rithu
Like it that Rudra is always there to catch paro when paro is tripped.. So many cute moments in this chapter, shanti - paro, dilshar-paro talk touching. Shantis cute talk "This is my baby brother's so I'm going to take it to Papo. She can keep it in their room"
I like samarat presence 9f mind & thinking abt things how person gave teddy bear & run away. In normal life, every person also think things & use presence of mind, other then main characters all characters are also have mind & use it. Superb.
Shantanu add chip in teddy bear, now listening all thier talks. He wants to hurt paro. Hope nothing bad happened to her & Rudra find abt him before he do any damage to paro. Hope in next update lots of paro & rudra moments.

Poor Maithili got a scare thinking she was some how at fault.
Dilsher explained Paro the bond between mother and child so beautifully. So Shantanu is eavesdropping on Ranawat house. He seems to be a good person who does not know the circumstances which lead to his brothers death. Hopefully when he comes to know about the truth he will realise that his brother was wrong.

Hey Rithu 😊
Loved both the chapters.. ❤️
I got the bonus because I didn't had to wait for ch. 61 for suspense to unfold 😛
The way you indulge everyone in family, no one is neglected. The exchange of taunts
between Rudra and Mohini then coversation between doctor and Rudra.. (god.. Rudra
is so protective.. telling doc. changes in Paro's body to no. of times she threw than 4kg
salt n tamarind 😲 ) enjoyed reading it.. 😆
Little Shanti is so adorable.. the way she talk "Papo" and ready to share her toys with coming baby.
No one is born a terrorist.. its the circumstances which make them! Here its by hate and urge to take revenge.. Hope Shantanu don't take extreme step and regret later.
Thanks for the long chapter.. love reading them in leisure 😃
Xx
CHAPTER 62
"Bhabhisa!" his voice boomed in the empty corridors of the Ranavat haveli. Mohini flung the newly dyed duppata and rushed to aangan to save her Beendini from the hot headed soldier. It was solely his fault for giving into a pretty face. "What storm has broken over your head that you are in such a delightful mood?" she asked. He twirled his moustache and asked her where his sister-in-law was. Before she could answer, the young woman came out of the kitchen with two tall glasses of milk.
Mohini tugged her pallu. Now he will know what hoops they had to jump through to get her to empty the container. "Beendini you take Shanti's and go. Rudra will make sure his wife drinks," she said handing him a glass. Rudra saw them exchange glances secretively.
"One minute," he said stopping Maithili. She turned around and braced for the famous Ranavat rage. "Rudra! You cannot hold her accountable for Paro's careless and your over indulgence. I understand that pregnant women like to be pampered. If you want, you give in to her ever whim however unnecessary. But you don't have the right to yell at Maithili for the consequences," she told him sternly.
Rudra replied that she was the one yelling. He just wanted to tell them to keep honey at hand for the next time she overeats tamarind. "I don't think she will, Devarsa. She was so scared for the baby," Maithili said. Mohini added that in any case for the next few months the fruit must be hidden from sight.
"You don't have to check," Mohini commented seeing him turn into the kitchen. He replied that he wanted some tea. She realized that in the commotion of the day tea was forgotten. "I'll make it. Everybody would be waiting," she offered. He asked to relax. It wasn't the first time he was preparing tea for the family.
She remembered him walking out with his father. "I should have been more supportive. I shouldn't have taken the anger I had for Mala on you," she apologized. She was not the only one who felt that way. Both she and Ranavat had both made it up to them by their treatment to Paro.
Samrat saw them talking and called Rudra aside. "Go, I'll take of this," she said pointing to the tea. Samrat led him to a deserted corner. Rudra groaned when he recognized the spot. It was where his older cousin would take him to patch up whatever Sumer and he were fighting about that day. He used to hate how pompous Samrat used to sound. His long winded lecturers were worse than Ranavats beating and Kakisa's screeching.
Samrat handed over the note. He explained in detail what happened earlier with the package. Rudra called Vicky first. "Bhaisa, are you going to be late. I can go tell Dad to drop me at Di's," he answered eagerly. Rudra replied that he was calling from home and he could visit anytime before he left for hostel. The boy sighed at the thought of leaving home again. Rudra asked him about the bear. "My pocket money isn't much. I can't afford giant teddy bears. But while we are on the subject you should tell Dad to increase it. I can't be a cheap uncle" came the reply. Rudra said he will give him an extra allowance if he studies well. "Extra allowance is not that important actually. What I really need is a bike! Imagine how happy the baby will be going on a ride on me," he suggested excitedly. Rudra shook his head not knowing whom to feel sorry for, his boss or himself who will be in this state in a few years.
Next he tried Shatabdi. "You're welcome! You can go ahead and build a statue in my honor," she said as soon as she picked up. He replied that he wasn't Sumer. "I know. But I did save your wife's life. If I hadn't..." she started. He kept the phone away and took a deep breath. He had a bad feeling about the bear and no patience for her. "Oye Express! If your train can stop for a minute can I ask something?" he asked. She fumed at the old nickname but held her tongue. She had promised her husband that she would be polite to his cousin. Rudra took advantage of the silence and posed his doubt. "Why would I get something that the baby can't use for a year. It will just be stuck in a corner gathering dust. I would..." her full reply cut by the soldier who was getting anxious by the minute.
The scrawl on the card didn't make any sense. Why didn't the sender write his name? He had spoken to the two people who were capable of planning this surprise. Aman was the direct type who would visit, spend a little time and then give the gift.
Rudra wondered if there was a new threat. "What was the courier company that sent this?" he asked his cousin. He made a mental note to call them first. Then he remembered. "I'll look into it. Thanks Samrat," he said earnestly. He went back to his room.
He saw a his wife behaving like a child forced to drink an unpleasant beverage. He stumbled as he tried to hold back his laughter. Unfortunately he tripped and the giant bear in the middle of the room fell on his tea. Paro gasped as the cup smashed on the floor scattering the liquid all over the room. Mohini met her nephew eyes and knew. This was deliberate.
Paro started to cry, "When did the tea cups become your enemy? From the time we met, you are breaking them. I will do one thing. I will line up all the cups in the house and you can shoot them all." Rudra was in shock. It was just a cup. He looked at his aunt hoping she will have an explanation. The older woman quietly took the now empty glass and left closing the door behind her. He was a seasoned soldier. A little mood swing shouldn't be too much to handle.
He approached the bed cautiously. Her bent head was wrapped in her arms. He sat down but she never looked up. "Paro," he shook her gently. She didn't raise her head. "I'm holding my ears and apologizing," he bluffed. She peeped through her hands and glared. He was taken aback by the anger in her beautiful eyes. Was she angry or upset? It didn't matter. He knew how to tackle both. After all he was Major Rudra Pratap Ranavat.
Paro wanted to know what was going on on his mind. She had calmed down a bit. But she wanted him to be sorry for real. Her baby needed a calm tempered father not one who could explode like a volcano. She felt something soft down her back. She stiffened at the ticklish feeling on her skin.
He smiled in triumph as her head rose from its hiding place. She saw the long feather in his hand and the mischief in his eyes. "You were supposed to cajole me not tickle," she groaned slapping his arm. He was confused. What did the matter how he managed it as long as she felt better? She tried to hit him again. This time his training kicked in. He caught it. She tried to pull away. He leaned closer. She fell back. He climbed over. Her hands went up his shoulder. His mouth covered hers.
A few hours later he slowly climbed out of the bed. "Where are you taking that?" she asked seeing him take the bear away. He replied that he was putting it in the jeep so that he will remember to get it dry washed. She nodded and went back to sleep.
He carried it to the back. "What did you find out?" he asked as soon as the phone rang. He frowned. The courier receipt was a fake. He pulled out a knife. He hacked away until a plastic chip fell out. Who was spying on his Paro, he wondered.
"This is a low grade device. It will transmit only for a radius of a 1 km," Amanda pointed out as he studied the device. Rudra nodded. He had made a quick search around the Haveli. Nobody was around. His men were now talking to his neighbours. He took out a pen drive from his pocket and plugged it in.
The video taped by the security cameras at the periphery of their home. "Maybe you should install cameras inside too," Aman suggested. His senior ignored it. This family would hate the lack of privacy especially Paro who was already vexed with the 24 x 7 security.
He stopped the video at the point when two constables entered. They handed over a file containing the witness accounts of a street hawker across the road, the gardener who was working on Paro's rose bushes and the new maid cook who was returning from the market. They all had similar details. Black/ Dark blue shirt with a cap. About 5 feet 10-11 inches. Fair guy with broad shoulders. Silver watch.
He turned the page and saw a log of visitors who entered his house. Marked with a red circle was the details,
5. DHL 1:47 pm SS
"What's is this SS? Didn't you ask for his name? Why is only his initials mentioned here?" Aman yelled at them indignantly. Rudra wanted to bite their heads off too, he bit his tongue instead. He felt the anger bubble to the surface. This was the heights of carelessness. BSD men trained to protect the borders had let a camera creep into his house. But, if this gets to the general's ears his Paro would be shifted out of his care to Jaipur. He had to remain calm and think.
The next page had a sketch. "What's this?" he asked them interrupting Aman's verbal assault. His junior was shocked to see him keep a cool head. His sister was the center of the major's world, wasn't she? "We had failed in our responsibility and wanted to make up for it. So we asked a sketch artist to draw from what we remembered," one of them replied. Aman gave the small smile. Their measures would help a lot.
Rudra however felt the face was familiar. He played the video forward, "I know this dimpled face. SS isn't exactly a stranger, I might know him" The four soldiers observed the feed carefully. They saw an auto park a few paces from the gate. A man got out and pulled the bear out. He quickly paid the fare and walked slowly towards the haveli. His gait was slow almost hesitant. He wore a black cap low and walked towards the entrance. He handed it to them then signed in the ledger. The constables argued saying they would hand it over. He replied something softly. They let him go in without noticing what he wrote or asking for an ID card. Aman glared at the two. "Focus Aman," Rudra growled.
They saw him go to the door and press a button. He had turned away after noticing the camera there. A few minutes later someone had opened the door. Rudra paused the video. "We know that Samrat opens the door and takes the package," Aman prompted. Rudra shook his head. "It's the shuffling feet Aman. Delivery boys usually have targets. They arrive at their destination ring the bell a couple of times then call the recipient. This guy is waiting. He wants the package to be handed over. The last time I saw someone do this was at your wedding."
They saw the general walk past the cabin. Rudra dismissed the constables. "What happened at my wedding?" Aman enquired. His friend and colleague shared how he received a poisoned pizza on the day of the sangeet. "All these characteristics fit that delivery boy too. He is after something big Aman," he concluded. Aman was speechless. Rudra's mind flew in a thousand directions. Did Tejawat still have enemies outside? Were they trying to avenge the erstwhile Thakur of Birpur?
"He picked up his phone and dialed a number. "I was going to call one of these days Major Ranavat. Your sister-in-law wanted to send across somethings for your wife. She asked me to help her out. I hope you don't mind I added a few items from my end too for the expectant mother," came a cheerful voice. Rudra wasn't in the mood. He asked if any of Tejawat's cronies escaped their net. "The civilian ones are in jail and the once who are in politics are trying very hard to put others like Tejawat out of commission. Why do we have anything new to worry about?" he asked. Rudra kept the receiver down without replying.
"I think you are the one he is after," Aman said in a soft voice. Rudra leaned forward and gave him his full attention. "A few days after our wedding, Kavya had asked if my job will be dangerous after my promotion too. I found it an odd question because we are soldiers. Risking our lives for the security of the nation is what we are sworn to do. Then she told me that news of a car blast at the parking lot of Republic Day parade was doing rounds in Delhi," he explained.
Rudra wasn't too concerned, "Aman that place was packed with some many VVIPs. The assassination attempt could have been for anyone." His junior was firm. He had seen the press reports online. A senior BSD official was mentioned as the passenger. This last part finally got Rudra's attention. He and Singh Sir were the only BSD senior officers at the parade. The older couple had taken the car allotted to them when he had whisked Paro away. "Search the records Aman," he ordered knowing it was futile. If his senior had filed a classified report, they won't be authorised to read it. Why did he have a target on his back?
