Getting to know Omkara's character- Help

So I'm starting to watch the show with Vrushika's entry as Ishaana, and I'm getting to read on and learn about Omkara's character and wanted some help. From what I gage, is he similar to the hybrid of characters of Akshay Khanna (Sid) from Dil Chahta Hai, with the artist, explorer, subdued persona, and Aditya Roy Kapoor's character in Fitoor, the intense, passionate painter/sculptor with baggage of the past that comes up periodically? Btw, loving the character outline of both Omkara and Ishaana, seems like a potential beautiful novel if it were written into one.

Om is a calm guy. he used drug, in his earlier life. And now leads a good lyf. Loves his bros, but is not in a good tone with his dad. He cant withstand his mom being cheated.

I'm looking forward to see ishaana-om luv story becoz it shuld b diffent- rather than feeling sad for her background bla bla like all shows

Thanks, that helps a lot, and ya same, hope it doesn't fall into that path of pity on background etc. Maybe more of the genuine love rising from the con, and how they both handle it with him unsure of trusting her genuine feelings, and her trying not to deviated from a pre-made plan. And also showing how truth/honesty have grey shades based on circumstances, and so not being truthful with reasoning is not always bad, etc.
