He is intelligent and has the can-do-anything attitude right from young. Yes emotionally, he is a bit messed up, because of the lies his father has fed him about his mum, and he on the other hand had no choice but to believe his father, cos the mother who promised him to stay by his side always, left him and disappeared from his life. (Remember the relationship he had with his mother) how could he but not believe his father for whom he has implicit trust, and therefore, he shut her off completely from his life.
Even if the father thinks he can control Shravan emotionally, we have also seen that Shravan does only what he believes in. The father asked him not to see Sumo, he blindly consented, cos he felt they were there for each other, and he wanted to be there for his father, who has always stood by him. But when Sumo was in hospital, he felt she needed him most, and he overrode his father and stayed, he also managed to get his father arrange for the neuro-surgeon so that Sumo could get well. So inspite of the father not wanting to do anything for Sumo, his hand was forced.
Shravan's unique strength has also shown how he felt he could speak about his love for Sumo and make his father understand, that he could not live without her, but even then, should he have asked him to stay away from her, he would for the love of his father. But that would have highlighted the father's selfishness.
His father, to keep up pretenses - of being a loving father and wanting only the happiness of his son, gave him the permission to love Sumo, but, knew how he could turn things to suit him, and he did exactly that by twisting Sumo's arm. He hit the Tiwaris where it hurt the most - they're not able to meet the expenses of a destination wedding which he plotted and used Kamini for it. He knows Kamini will have to toe his orders, cos he is their single provider and his words count. We are talking about a selfish guy who is only interested in I, Me and Myself.
He knows of Sumo's strength and also her uncompromising self-respect. He knew she would not accept the money and that since he did not like her, she would not keep in touch with Shravan, so he hit her with two stones. His comparing to Nirmala is so very true.
But I hope we will see more of the strong Shravan's Character and personality in the coming episodes. He will love Sumo more than he has ever loved her for not succumbing to emotional blackmail and money. Looking forward to the coming episodes...
