Okay guys thank you very much for all the response on the last chapter. Heres the next one, also lets see how it goes but I feel this story will only be a couple of chapters at the most. Its very simple at the basis and I don't think it needs much more than that.

Chapter 2
A new day early morning as Aman had mentioned Khushi was ready to start her new job.
She didn't recognize the maid that opened the door to Shantivaan. She must have been new Khushi thought. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise for she had no clue what she would have reacted to likes of HP and OP.
Whilst the maid servant went off to inform her Saab about Khushis arrival Khushi would wait here but didn't the mention him stir butterflies in her even now.
She had successfully avoided him for many months now to see him again after such a long time bought with it its own challenges only her heart knew of.
Khushi looked around the house a little as she waited and the past seemed to come flooding back to her. The house that she had entered as a bride, a daughter in law, a sister in law, the wife of the head of house which ASR very much was. With the position came a lot of respect, a lot of responsibility and love just not as much of the latter as she would have liked. She recalled her very first morning in the kitchen at a distance, their family meals at the dinning table, or laughter in the lounge but it was ever so quiet at this time.
It seemed unusual. Khushi waited but there was only so much one could do in wait she walked further into the house in no time at all without even realizing she had lost her sense of attention and collided against Arnav who was on his blue tooth having just walked off the staircase.
Khushi's head hitting his chest it was quite a collide which threw both of them off. ASR took away his Bluetooth and looked down at the lady against his chest and Khushi who could feel the familiar at first composed herself after realzing just who she had collided with.
Im sorry.. he began instantly like one would be he soon realized that the lady was none other than Khushi. His eyes carried his astonishment whilst Khushi simply stepped away and deferred from looking up at him.
The maid was one to provide a very unwarranted introduction.
"Sahab ..yey khushiji hai Naniji ki carer". (This is Khushiji nani's new carer )
She was the new carer Aman had employed, Khushi anticipated a reaction from him. He wasn't to know..he may have even reacted badly to this but it was yet to be seen. She lifted her eyes for a moment to him and god hadnt it been such a long time since she had laid eyes on him. He was still exactly the same, as handsome as, neat, as powerful he still had that thing about him that turned her weak at the knees but that had always been where Khushi failed. She loved him.
Their eyes took note of one and other for a moment after which his asked her whether this was so and Khushi replied with a nod of the head and admiration in her eyes. She was nani's new carer a new employee to the house .
As Khushi expected Arnav took it in his stride, and that meant he would think about it at some point just not right now.
The gesture in his eyes accepting what was before him he makes it known to the maid that "Khushiji" as strange as it sounded from him would have access to everything she needed and there was no need to show her around the house. That she already knew of.
"I'm running late, we'll talk about the arrangements on my return."
Nodding a yes to that Khushi watches him leave and with it takes a sigh of relief but also a sense of fulfilment on seeing him after such a long time.
...
It was Aman's turn to drive to work this morning and ASR got into the car he braced himself for he had probably already seen Khushi by now but it was nothing of the sort.
Arnav.. - Aman was just going to start talking when he was put to silence. "I know ." is the only thing ASR had to say. He wasn't going to talk about it any further but he also knew that even though Aman may have played a move he may not have approved of had he known he also knew that there was no one better to take care of his grandmother than Khushi.
He needed time to gather his thoughts is what Aman understood from the initial silence in the car on the to AR.
The reality was that seeing Khushi threw ASR back into the past.
Flashback.
Again she did this every morning it was ritual, did she ever look where she was going.
Okay it was his fault too he was always concentrating more on his Bluetooth then what was around him but at least the family found it entertaining. They saw it as romantic' but Khushi and Arnav wouldn't have agreed.
He looked down at her and asked her if she was okay.. her head still in his chest. She nodded and placed his arm around her back. He was getting used to his wife's clutziness now which meant he wasn't angry. When Khush looked up at him she saw familiarity now the only thing was that her sindhoor had left a stain on his white shirt. Looking down at what Khushi seemed to be concentrating on Arnav pats the stain on his shirt a little but when it doesn't come out lets it be.
End of flashback
It wasn't often ASR had day dreams so this confused him. He was back to the surroundings of Amans but for some reason to check on the reality of the moment he needed to look down at his shirt to confirm that it was nothing but his mind and the past before his eyes which was triggered by seeing Khushi so abruptly out of the blue this way.

Nani looked weak she looked ever so frail to what Khushi remembered her to be but that is what illness did. Up until now Khushi was not sure as to her choice of taking up this job but now that changed. There was nothing more she wanted than to help nani get better.
Watching her lay there a little sad to see a loved one this way Khushi smiled when she could see that nani had opened her eyes and not only that there was attempt on her lips to smile and to speak because she could see that it was Khushi who was stood before.
Walking around her bedside, Khushi is quick to be closer to Nani so she does not have strain. She sits beside her on the side of the bed and takes her hand in hers.
"Khushi bitya aap vapas aa gayi beta ..?" (Khushi you are back?)
She was back, she wasn't going to tell nani the details of it to upset her but yes she was back. She didn't know why but tears formed in her eyes upon seeing naniji. The grandmother was the reason Khushi ever became the daughter in law to the family in the first place, she was not only her grandmother but a guiding influence, a friend beyond all others in the family for Khushi.
She didn't want her to use up all her energy so she asked her to rest and that too she did happier knowing Khushi was by her side.

Khushi's mere presence made a world of difference to Naniji. Instead of wanting to just rest Nanji was awake in bed today. Khushi looked after her every minute of the day, her medications and her food, her water everything she could possibly need or what she provided it. Not just because she was employed to do so but because she cared for naniji.
It was late afternoon when Khushi prepared Naniji for her dose of tablets. She helped her sit up right with the aid of the pillows and prepared water along with the right combination of medication. All the while there was something Nani wanted to say to Khushi.
Hame maaf kardo khushi biya nahin ham aapko is ghar ki bahoon bana ne ka zid karte nahin aap ko Arnav se pyaar hota aur nahin yey sab hota.
"I am sorry Khushi.. for being adamant on bringing you into this house.. "Nor would I have chosen you for Arnav Nor would you have married him..or fallen in love with him and it wouldn't have ended this way."
The apology was sincere one but Khushi didn't blame nani in fact she didn't blame anyone maybe this was just "fate."
Aap aisa kyun keh rahin hai naniji is mein aap ki koi galti nahin hai.
(don't say such things nani it isn't your fault. )
The truth was that Arnav married Khushi because it was what naniji wanted and ASR would do anything for his ill grandmother. The thing was that even though Arnav tried he just couldn't fall in love with Khushi , he still loved another and now they were separated.
Naniji took the medication handed to her by Khushi.
Ham kabhi unke layak they hein nahin nani.. kabhi lavanya toh nahin ban payey.
("I was never good enough for him anyway nani...")
She was better! - according to Nani but both of the women stopped their conversation as they saw that Arnav was at the entrance of the room.
He had come home early.
He probably heard the conversation they were having but said nothing. He simply walked into the room over to his grandmother kissed her on the forehead with a smile. He asked her how she was to which she said she was much better now she had seen Khushi which made Khushi feel a little odd but he was happy for this was the best his grandmother had been in days. She looked better just in a matter of a day.
"Khushi can I have a word"... he said after a moment to which agreed to meet him outside the room.
...
"Hariprakash get Khushiji a chai" he said as he took a mug of coffee off Hariprakash in the kitchen but Khushi denied the offer.
This was strange for both of them. The kitchen seemed like an apt place away from Nanis room at the time to talk.
Arnav took a seat at the table as did Khushi.
"I said we could talk about the terms of this arangment for you." Khushi looked at him the moment he spoke of this she didn't know why but maybe she thought he was going to talk about something other the formality but maybe not. Seeing her was probably as much of a shock for him as it was for her.
Main bas itna chahta hoon ke nani ki dekh bhal ho (I just want to make sure nani is looked after ).. nothing more you can decide the rest of your amenities.
She agreed to that and he gave her attention as she spoke.
"Ham subha ke sara nau baje hazir ho jayenge or saath baje yaha ghar jayenge." (I'd like to start work at 9:30 am and leave by 7)
He agreed, he had no problem with that.
"Aur Hame ravi vaar ko chutti chahiyey ho gi" (I would also like Sundays off)
That was also fine by she did not expect him to say what he did in response.
"What about Tuesday.. You fast on a Tuesday don't you..? "
He remembered, that left a strange feeling in the air for Khushi who just looked at him for a moment into his eyes that were ever so comforting caring even now.
You can finish early on a Tuesday. He decided and looked at her.. "Anything else..?"
There was one more thing which was a little more difficult to say out so boldly and he could that in her expression before she spoke. She didn't look at him at all when she spoke of it.
"Ham laavanyaji se kisi bhi tara ka tarluk nahin rakehenge." (I will have nothing do with the Laavanya what so ever. )
He understood and respected her confidence in being clear about it.
"Shes not here anyway" he said in response but his eyes reassuring her that this would never be an issue.
Ek aur baat.. "one more thing" she added that took him by surprise.
Aap hame ji.. aur aap keh kar nahin bulayeyge. (You're not to use ji and aap against my name.) because it felt wrong and there was nothing more to it then that.
He smiled at that remark just Khushi' it was then.
They were pretty much done as far as the conversation had to go Khushi asked whether there was anything else he needed before she took a leave. The only thing Arnav wished to ask her is how she was?
Not really expecting a personal question, Khushi eyes were telling of how she really felt despite her words "Ham theekh hai.." and it was the very same for Arnav too.
Aap ..? she asked in return and he too spoke of being well but the truth was apparent to each other via the eyes, there was nothing more they could say beyond that.
