After much speculation, the final confirmed list of contestants of the ninth season of the dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa" is out. Like last year, this year also 12 celebrity contestants will compete with each other to win "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9" trophy.

The confirmed list of contestants is a mix of celebrities from television and film industry. Interestingly, this year celebrity chef Harpal Singh Soni will also participate in the dance reality show.

Earlier, reports suggested that "Baahubali" and "Bigg Boss 9" fame Nora Fatehi and television actor Sidhanth Gupta would be participating in the show. However, the confirmed list doesn't include the names of Nora and Sidhanth.

The confirmed list of contestants includes "Hate Story 2" actress Surveen Chawla, "Bigg Boss 9" fame Karishma Tanna, "Swaragini" actress Helly Shah, "Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi" actors Shakti Arora and Arjun Bijlani, YouTube sensations and Bharatnatyam/Hip-Hop fusion dancing twins Priyanka and Poonam Shah and Shopkeeper Gaurav Gera.

This season's child artist contestant name has not been revealed. Reports suggest that two child artist will participate in the show and the makers have approached Spandan aka Chakor of "Udaan," Ruhanika Dhawan aka Ruhi of "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein" and Shivansh aka Naksh of Star Plus' popular show "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" were approached for the same.

Talking about the judges, filmmaker Karan Johar and choreographer Ganesh Hegde will continue to judge the show, while Jacqueline Fernandez has replaced Shahid Kapoor as the new judge.

As for the format of the show, a source told an entertainment portal that each week the contestants will have to give out fresh performances."Interestingly, this time round each celeb contestant will have to throw in two fresh performances in a week. Reason being if a particular celeb performed during Saturday's episode, and stayed on the bench on Sunday, his or her fans refrained from watching the show on a Sunday. They want to see their favourite celeb perform both the days. How they will manage to pull off such a task, is what the creatives will have to work on," a source had toldTellychakkar.com.
