Hey guys! I just caught up on this first weeks worth of episodes because I am a huge Nakuul fan and I can't believe how different this show is already. I love it!
Here we have a family whose older generations is divided by their own greed and selfishness and motivations, whose matriarch is swallowed by her own sorrow for having her sons being led astray.
But her stars, her golden years are also marked so heavily by the golden sons. Her grandsons. The boys who will carry the legacy her husband built, and will have it touch the sky.
We have Shivaay, Omkara, Rudra, three names for one essence. How beautiful and how fitting. Three parts of a whole.
We have Rudra, who is equal parts a child and an infuriating man to some π Typical play boy types but with a heart that's hidden only for his family, and only ever for them. For now I think Rudra will be the catalyst for his brothers. He is the youngest, so of course his light-hearted ways will serve as a way to propel both Shivaay and Omkara's stories forward. I don't see his love interest entering the show anytime soon, mostly because I think Shivaay and Omkara's love interests will take precedence. After all, Rudra ke paas waqt hi waqt hai. And until the girl who stops and makes him think comes along, he's going to be a very interesting vocal point for his brothers' feelings. Unlike Omkara and Shivaay, Rudra's emotions are on his sleeve at the moment. Because he doesn't believe it will get broken, his faith is that he is the one doing the breaking. And his heart that is hidden will stay hidden until the right one comes along. Or maybe she's already here, or was, and affected him in a way he couldn't comprehend but we haven't gotten that far yet have we?
Omkara, Omkara, Omkara π³ Bas. He is truly a breath of fresh air where male leads are concerned. We have a man who is moral and honest, his true north pointing him towards what is right and just. He loves his mother, respects her even with her faults. He hates the fabricated life his father leads and maybe that's why Omkara is such a stickler for truth. He doesn't want to hurt anyone the way his own father has and he thinks that as long as he tells the truth, he can never inflict that kind of pain on the people he loves. But he is sensitive and smart and tough, even if his own view of love is jaded. And just like his brother he too hides his heart. Maybe because he's scared of its own capacity to love, because from what he's seen love means pain. And he would rather cut out his heart than give anyone the power to hurt him. But love is so much more than the capacity to hurt each other, because yes the ones we love most us can hurt us most as well, but when that love is invested in the right person it can also make us stronger. It sheds our lies and makes us vulnerable, but being with that person also makes us feel like we can do anything, be anyone. And that's what Omkara needs. A person who will propel him to the truest truth, which is love in all its beautiful and messy glory.
Last but not least, Shivaay. A truly formulaic 4Lions lead but there's just something about the way Nakuul plays him that I can't help but fall in love. He's hard, he's angry, he listens to no one but himself. He's smart, cutting and likes control. He loves control. He thrives off it. It's what gives his archaic life meaning. The control however loosens when he's around the people he truly loves, and he doesn't even see it. His own pride and ego falters and falls around them. He has his own reasons for being an arse, but Anika who is probably the only person who could ever unravel him takes none of his bs π She is just as sharp, just as cutting, just as intelligent, just as strong. All his blows are met by a one up because that's just who she is. And slowly but surely we see Shivaay's control bubbling to let loose whenever he's around her. She just does something to him. Something he can't see or understand yet. And that's that she makes him feel. Outside of his brothers, sister and daadi, Anika is the only one capable of eliciting and actual reaction from Shivaay π I'm very excited to see where these two are headed and their journey has been very entertaining to watch thus far.
