Ch 22 : All The Small Things
Rey was pacing outside the hospital room praying to his god to keep her safe. She was getting treated inside by the doctors, there is no news about her situation which had others worried sick. Ronak was depressed, He drowned himself in guilt of letting her go alone. Swayum was consoling his brother while praying for his little sister's well being.
Rey was glancing at the door, hoping for the doctor to come out and disclose some news to them, good news to be precise. He wanted her fit & fine. She was a precious gem to him, an innocent angel who had never done any bad to anyone, then for what she was getting this punishment?
He was missing her presence beside him, remembering the every moment he had spent with her. Those small yet special moments which created a special space in his heart for her.
"Sh. She will be alright, Ron. And it wasn't your fault, so stop blaming yourself." Rey kept a consoling hand on his shoulder, assuring him. His heart went out for him.
"Swayum, have you informed Rishi uncle?" Rey turned to swayum and asked him, Swayum nodded his head negatively.
"I will inform him, he must have reached home." Swayum mumbled numbly, he got up and went little away to call his father.
Rey and Ronak rushed to the doctor as he stepped out the emergency room.
"Hows she, doctor?" Ronak and Rey questioned at the same time, urgency and worry could be felt in their voice.
"She is out of danger. She has got few minor injuries and fractured her right hand, but there is nothing more to worry about." Doctor told them in his professional yet composed calm tone.
"When can we meet her?" Rey asked the doctor.
"She will gain conscious in some time, then you guys can meet her. I will get her shifted in room." She answered and walked away from there in cabin. Ronak turned to Rey, who looked visibly relieved.
"See, i told you, she will be alright." Rey smiled at ronak and hugged him. Ronak smiled through his tears and hugged him back, he was happy and relieved and now he couldn't wait to meet her once she regain her conscious.

Rey smiled as he along with Ronak and Swayum entered the hospital room to meet her. His heart pained when his eyes fell over her fractured hand and bandaged wrapped around her head. His heart clenched but then, the uncomfortable ache replaced by a soothing feeling when he noticed her smiling at them. He wondered how could she smile even now?
He felt like giving her a piece of mind so that she will be careful next time to not get herself in an accident and land herself up in hospital, but seeing her sweet smile, every thought flew out of the window and he returned the smile with his very own killer one.
Ronak rushed to her and engulf her in a bear hug, but taking to not to hurt her injuries.
"Di, are you alright?" Ronak asked her concernedly.
"I am perfectly fine, but i can't move my hand and its pretty much frustrating." Taani pouted, glancing down at her plaster covered hand.
"Di! Don't ever do that to me! You have no idea how scared i was. I thought i lost you-" Ronak whispered brokenly, taani signaled him to sit beside her on the bed, Ronak obeyed her and sat on the bed beside her.
"I am not gonna leave you so easily, so relax." Taani mumbled, giving a side hug to him.
Just then, the door of hospital room burst open and an anxious, worried father stepped inside. Rishi shekhawat, the owner of the shekhawat empire and a dotting family man, was heart broken when he got the call from his elder son half an hour ago and got to know about his baby-girl's accident. Leaving every work in middle, he rushed to hospital to meet his little princess, taani.
"Daddy!" Taani beamed in happiness seeing her father.
"Oh princess! Don't 'daddy' me. You scared me-" Rishi walked over the bed and started examining her injuries with pained expression. Then his features harden when he look at his sons, taani bit her lower lip, knowing what is about to come.
"How could you both be so careless? I gave you just a simple responsibility to take care of her, but you both failed." Rishi lashed out at Swayum and Ronak.
"And you swayum, i know your dance is everything to you, but atleast sometimes try to think of your family members too. She is your sister, i gave her responsibility to you." Rishi was enraged to see his daughter in this condition, he couldn't control his anger. Swayum looked down, not meeting his father's eyes as he knew, he had been taking his family granted from quite a time now. Swayum apologized to his father and vowed to himself to not to commit same mistake again.
"Daddy, it wasn't their mistake. Don't scold them. Please!" Taani tugged at her father's hand and made an innocent puppy face which always melt him.
"Princess, are you still in pain?" Rishi asked her softly.
"No. I am better now." Taani smiled at her father as she answered him in cute tone. Rishi gave a small nod in return, still concerned for her.
Rishi decided to meet her doctor personally and make sure everything is alright. Rishi turned to leave when his gaze fall over Rey.
"Beta, you are?" Rishi asked him politely.
"Uncle, I am Reyaansh, Reyaansh singhania. Their friend." Rey introduced himself with a small smile, he was little conscious around the possessive and over protective father of taani.
"Ranvijay singhania's son?" Rishi asked him after thinking alot since the name felt familiar to him.
"Yes, uncle. But how do you know my father?" A surprised Rey asked him.
"Well we used to study in same college and we were & still are best of friends." Rishi answered him, remembering his own college days and friends.
"Though we hardly each other now due to our busy schedules." Rishi mumbled with a smile.
"I will go and meet her doctor once, Excuse me." Rishi excused himself and walked out of the room, leaving surprised kids behind.
"Wow! World is so small. Rey bhai's dad and dad were best friends and now their kids are best friends as well." Ronak laughed, making others smile as well.
"And thank you, di, for saving us from dad's wrath." Ronak kissed his sister's cheek, thanking her. Swayum too threw a thankful look to her.
"I helped you, now you help me. Get me discharge from this hospital as soon as possible. I want to go home." Taani said to him, causing him to chuckle.
"This place makes me feel sick." She mumbled, looking around the white room she was in.
"But you have to stay here for a night. You will get discharge in morning." Rey told her, drawing her attention to himself. Taani look at him, a small smile touched her cheeks as she look into his concern filled brown orbs.
Rey smiled at her which she returned. Only he knew how he manager to control himself to not to run to her and embrace her in his arms, where she belong.
Where she belong? What does that supposed to mean?
Rey questioned himself, questioning his own self for the restlessness, concern, over protective, possessiveness and worry for her. And the fear of losing her. Why? Why was he so concerned, so scared for her safety when he thinks her to be nothing more than swayum's sister to him?
Has he really fallen for her?
